Today's football.

It's the inconsistency that gets on most people's nerves. They should have to explain decisions after the game.

True, and it would be a good move in the right direction if refs came out at the end of the game to explain decisions.
But the main problem I have is that refs don't get any help, then they get vilified forever and have a reputation from then on.

Where's replays etc? If there was a t.v on the off pitch for decisions to be looked at then there would be more consistency, just as an example.
Until something happens, things like dubious red cards are always going to go on.

Can't believe the garbage Keane was talking. That was all he did in his career. He'd probably have been off every week if his refs had applied the same logic to him. Gobsh*te. Great player, good competitor, but lacking a bit in the self-awareness dept ffs.

Intent makes a massive difference. It drives the kind of action you make and is in large part decisive in whether what you do is dangerous or not. There are hardly any situations in football where doing something you would do irrespective of whether or not you have an opponent that could be construed as dangerous. Jumping forwards to control a ball with your foot in the air isn't inherently dangerous to me, there isn't any forceful movement of the body, it's only ever going to be a collision. Realistically it's not going to be anything other than painful if you do hit someone, unless of course it's their head, which is why it makes a difference how high it is.

Wasn't impressed with either side anyway to be honest bar the first 20 mins, which were good entertainment. Dangerous game playing on the counter for United, isn't often they [Poor language removed] out and have 37% possession at home.

No sympathy for United, nor Ferguson. This is the man who thought this was attempted murder:

The fact there are massive differences of opinion on the red card in itself suggests it was debatable and could have gone either way. It certainly wasn't definitive - as always it's the ref's opinion that counts.

I was in Goodison for that, ref robbed us, one of the worst games for me.

No for the first day in months I wasn't down west today, worked in Barry mate. Do all of swansea though, it's my region.

kk i'll keep my eye out. I think he's the same guy i watched a sunderland game with in walkabout a few years back. always hoped it was you but had my doubts.

I probably wouldn't have, but under the laws of the game, it could be a red. Reckless + high with studs showing could be a "serious" foul. I'd probably say it was only reckless and gone with yellow, but the red was within his discretion.

I don't have a lot of love for Nani, but his reaction to the sending off made me feel bad for him. Still,

Decisions not going your way are important, but the way you respond is more important. United looked shell shocked and Real were ruthless.

Yeah it would be nice if he could bring someone as good as Modric off the bench.

i'd just settle for him taking heitinga off when he deserves it rather than waiting until he makes 3 cock-ups. I'm pretty sure players worse than modric have come on before the mandatory 60 minuet mark to make an impact in a premier league game like

yeah real did react to the red card perfectly, was a bit shocked when mourinho brought pepe on though, thought he would have kept going for the 3rd to make absolute certain whilst the chance was there. The ref could have easily given a shocking red against one of his players, united score and then they're the ones hanging on for what 10-15 mins.
