This is better than either of theirs - lets not forget they sold their best player, and saw the two main Spanish clubs pay a hundred million euro for one player each.
Montpellier were up against PSG. The gap in finances is at the least comparable.

I honestly don't think that's the case. Moyes hasn't done anything tactical here, it's just that Bayern haven't either. Two generally poor managers with no plan B nullifying each other stylistically.
Bayern were crap against Arsenal as well though in both legs. They weren't brilliant against City. The style of lay affects the quality of games they are involved in.

Would Fergie be doing anything much different?
Not a scholar of Utd away legs in Europe, in fact only the Juventus away in 1999 stands out, and it could be argued that Roy Keane won that almost single handedly.
Well exactly. They were the best team in Europe then and Pep has made them more predictable and ponderous. They were good against city at the ethiad but they probably weren't in tune with guerdiolas tactics at that point.
Last season they were so much better than this

I didn't say it was, but they are the regular participants in crap games. It's not just them though.
Scary to think that if United were any good they would have a decent chance of beating Bayern.
