You and anyone who likes your post are the type of blue who are against Liverpool more than you support Everton. You define your Evertoniasm by your hate of Liverpool FC.

Sorry if that comes across as brutal. Maybe it's what you need. Or maybe not. Maybe you enjoy supporting your club this way.

In the real world, normal peace-loving Evertonians would love to qualify for Europe again. It would mean progress, and it would mean creating more cherished memories (like Arteta vs Fiorentina).

That's what following our club is about for most of us.

What do you think gives you the right to pontificate about "what sort of Blue" I am?

For the record, I'm a match going Blue, who's been going to the Old Lady for over 30 years. I grew up in the era when the RS were winning everything in sight, and we were nowhere. The nearest we came to a pot in my child hood was when Villa did us in the Mickey Mouse in '77.

So I grew up, surrounded by kopites rubbing Blue noses in it, at every opportunity, but even then we still had class. My old fella took me down to see their victory parade when they brought home the European cup, as he said it was great for the City. Only for us to witness 'Crazy Horse' starting the 'Everton are tragic' chant, to once again show their 'class'

Then came the 'glory years' of the mid 80's when for a few fantastic years we could genuinely stand toe to toe with them and beat them to the League title. Only to see them produce a European ban at the point when we stood on the edge of becoming a genuine European force. We then slowly but surely fell apart in the wake of that ban, as our best players and manager, wanted to test themselves at the highest level. I'm not ashamed to admit that I never have and never will forgive them for providing the catalyst for that downward spiral, as after many years of listening to their gloating, they smashed our progress to pieces without kicking a ball.

So when it comes to seeing that shower lifting the League title, I'd rather anyone did ahead of them, anyone. That's what type of Blue I am lad, so you can kindly poke your patronising tripe up your hairy hoop.

Ha Ha Ha.

Bravo sir.

I reckon Sherwood would win in a fight, pardew reminds me of the type of guy that is an up start but really one on one he'd plead for his life.

Admittedly Sherwood is the biggest (to quote) divvy because even when spurs are doing well, one bad result and he slags them off. Good lad Tim, that's why you had such a decorated career with a manage like that.

pure and simple, if chelsea and city both do the double over the RS, then they won't or deserve to win the title if you're using comparable results as a basis.

not sure you can say arsenal don't show attacking intent purely because they're defenisvely solid

I agree that if Liverpool can't beat the very top teams a league title would mean less.

Arsenal do show attacking intent but they're not as good at it as Liverpool and City. The RS have the top two marksmen in the league and Aguero is in third place still, despite missing large portions of the season. Arsenal have been unlucky that injury can curtailed the season of Ramsey's life, but I'd expect Giroud to have more goals than Remy and Rodriguez given that he has the likes of Ozil and Santi Cazorla supplying the ammunition.

arsenal only have one good striker tbh, the league was there for the taking if wenger brought in a top top striker - even a really good one may have been enough.

Personally i think Giroud is a really good striker. He isnt world class but we scores goals when you need them, just like against us. Demba ba is another one.

Should Aston Villa be higher in the table, or are they pretty much exactly where they should be?

It's not a vintage Villa side by any means

Villa should be relegated if it wasn't for Benteke. They are nowhere near the side that threatened under O Neill and to be honest are going to be stuck in limbo for a good few years now. Perhaps they can make ground with the Benteke money but chances are the only club that will pay the asking price is us and he proves to be terrible.

They're very inconsistent mate. That first half performance at the pit is looking better by the day. They're one of those teams I genuinely don't like playing with the pace they have upfront.

they're very inconsistant and have that sort of inconsistant claibre of player i.e. agbonlahor who look great when at the top of their game, but that happens once every 5/6 games.

Great result for them at the weekend like

Good atmos in the stadium too

We were lucky Howard played a blinder when we faced them there

We got lucky against them at Villa Park, if they'd scored that penalty their was no way given our performance that we'd win the game.

Villa must be the most inconsistent side in the league though. They play like world beaters one week and relegation candidates the next
