Apologies for the carragher comment and general comments about Liverpool- I think this season, more than most, because of the quality and closeness between the two sides in terms of ability make the rivalry a little more hatred than usual. In my lifetime supporting everton, we haven't won silverware and Liverpool have been considerably stronger but this season we are as close as we've been for a long time.

Liverpool, whether we like it or not, are a very good side and have learnt from the mistakes of last season and got their cohesion and togetherness spot on. I can get out of hand when in conversation about Liverpool, primarily because they've always been better than us and always edged past in derby games and beat us in cup competitions etc. today Liverpool were fortuitous but had the ruthlessness to finish off the chances and overcome a difficult period; that's CL material. Financially, they are also more potent than us, so should this season concluded with us finishing ahead of them, they'll reinvest and avoid stagnation in the team.

We don't like them and you can't change that; it's in the DNA and the blood. I have never shouted anything like 'murderers' or that to Liverpool because that's not rivalry, that's disgusting and that's inhumane. The thing that is great about the derby is we can be worst of enemies for 90 minutes and then have a drink afterwards; they're a huge club and we have to respect they've had a number of fantastic players over the years, as have we and at present, they are as strong as they have been for a very long time, as are we.

I know it all sounds hypocritical rubbish from a young teenage blue but this is not just a message to us lot, it's a message to all fans. There's a very thin line between rivalry and banter and sick, distasteful, inhumane comments. The line has been crossed several times in the past by ourselves and by Liverpool and by fans across the country, which has led to racism, discrimination and an acrid atmosphere. Goodison and anfield are cauldrons of noise and two of the best atmospheres in the country but in recent times, the atmosphere has taken on a sour note and the noise produced is not rivalry or derbies, it's dark and bitter. I love everton and I hate Liverpool but not to the degree where I'd shout things regarding heysel etc. At the end of the days, we're local rivals, bitter for 90 minutes and then friends for the rest.

Let's keep it that way.
Let's keep all derbies and all rivalries battles and rivalries for 90 minutes and nothing more. Sorry for boring the pants off you and for the carragher comment; just wanted to get that off me chest

sorry but all the best derbies in the world have that hatred, I don't wanna be going to a derby game where everyone is giving each other a hand job and one set is singing everton and the other Liverpool, the crowd getting riled up is what makes goodison rocking that something special, like Big Dunc's winner against Utd had that been against Chelsea or spurs the fans the atmosphere would never have been that electric. I agree with you on the bile side I don't like it to much but hate is what makes derbies special especially when your rivals are deluded ****s who stick up for racists and rob tickets off their own.

Its the same as sunderland fans, how could you not hate the titish barcodes if you was their local rivals?

I agree with you to an extent but sometime atmospheres in rivalries can be marred by violence and such a bitter atmosphere, it doesn't feel like a derby. I agree with you that we don't want everyone hugging and missing but we don't want these games to feel unsafe for our kids and for ourselves. We don't want to make games like this into political games and games where fans just go to hurl abuse at the opposition; we want to keep them passionate where we're proud to display our colours, not violent and nasty affairs, where it makes us and our kids feel vulnerable.

the thing is though mate all this is what makes football special and tribal, it separates it from other sports like rugby, NFL with soccer mums sat with a hotdog and foam finger. Violence shouldn't happen I agree but nothings better than a cold derby night with the two sets of fans hatred of one another with your side getting a late winner sticking to the deluded ********s, moments like that are priceless, take that away its just another match like spurs, Newcastle and if you win great your buzzing but by the end of the night the buzz is gone and its just a happy relief of having the 3 points and win, not the buzz a derby win brings against your bitter rivals.

Citeh are unstoppable. It looks like they've sorted out their away form now. Newcastle are now probably out of the race for 4th imo. It's down to us/RS/Spurs/Utd.

Christ how bad was Stoke' defending today? Just typical they can't do that when we throw the kitchen sink at them.

If Arsenal win, the top 7 will all have won their games this week, so no change, really. Roll on next weekend.

That's just sad. We should be relegating 6 squads this year.

I agree with you mate in the sense that we should keep our derbies passionate but I'm a huge rugby league fan and I hate Wigan and the atmosphere is electric on derby day and the passion and the devotion from the fans is there and banter is exchanged, neith a bit of bitterness sandwiched in between, but then afterwards we can have a pint together , same as in the merseyside derby. But from a general point of view, looking at rivalries like utd vs Liverpool. They're no longer celebrations of england's biggest clubs in a cauldron of noise, it's a game scarred by events of the past between the two clubs and snide, dark and horrid comments regarding hillsborough and Munich. Newcastle vs Sunderland last season ended with violence between supporters as did blues/ villa a few years back in the cup.

Thankfully our derby hasn't gone that way as of yet but has the potential to do so as do all derbies. Do we want it to be like in oversees nations where grounds are divided and some stands closed, crowded by police? I'm all for banter and passion and rivalry but clubs across Britain need to stop making these games and football in general a game of politics and making the beautiful game far more dirtier than it should be, putting their club's history and stature and prestige into question.

Errr what seat are you in the kop ? Sorry but you come across as one of them..(look back on your comments ..you have used "we're " instead of them describing the RS)

Spot on that mate.

I dont know why he does it.

It's very strange. He seems to have been figured out now anyway.

And at the end of the day, we can show off our premier league and fa cup medals to them at the end of the season (y) Sherlock now to finish the day cheers guys enjoy rest of your weekend and coyb! (Apologies for boring u to death today with me posts, I'll shut up now i swear)

I don't think the Merseyside rivalry will go down that route mate, but like someone said before should we get successful those bellends will certainly act up and then play the victims like they always do, it will kick off in 2 weeks I reckon (on the pitch not off it), mirallas will be heckled by their fans and ours will to sewer rat, with how close we both are its a shame we don't have local lad barks to pick the game by the scruff of the neck and do the horrible ****s.

textbook trolling that.

...you know, the more you play this game, the more you reveal your true self...think about that. You've worked so hard to build up this persona. But you can't beat me. Best leave it before you burn out.

And I mean that friendly, like :) I'm not into feuds.
