They've already played liverpool away. Whichever way you look at it 5 wins on the trot is a good run. With two home games against out of sorts Spurs and a faltering Swansea it could conceivably be 7 from 7.

Also if you look at their last 5 fixtures, none of the other challengers got 15 points from those fixtures - Liverpool lost at hull, City lost at Villa, Arsenal lost at home to villa, Chelsea lost to Stoke, Everton drew with Norwich etc.

I know it's fashionable to knock Moyes but it's already making people look silly, it's only going to look sillier imo.

As I said earlier, they're beating teams they should beat, their record against the top 6 challengers (ie the current top 9) is absolutely dire

8th December United trailed league leaders Arsenal by 13 points...today they trail them by 5 points.

Ha Ha. Yeah, Boom indeed.

You could have a point, let's have a look...

8th Dec (Played 15)

1. Arsenal 35 pts
2. Liverpool 30 pts
3. Chelsea 30 pts
4. City 29 pts
5. Everton 28 pts
6. Spurs 27 pts
7. Newcastle 26 pts
8. Southampton 23 pts
9. United 22 pts

Currently (Played 19)

1. City 41 pts
2. Arsenal (game in hand) 39 pts
3. Chelsea (game in hand) 37 pts
4. Liverpool (game in hand) 36 pts
5. Everton (game in hand) 34 pts
6. United 34 pts

So

City- 12 pts from 4 games (Arsenal, Fulham, Liverpool, Palace)
United- 12 pts from 4 games (Villa, West Ham, Hull, Norwich)
Chelsea- 7 pts from 3 games (Palace, Arsenal, Swansea)
Liverpool- 6 pts from 3 games (Spurs, Cardiff, City)
Everton- 6 pts from 3 games (Fulham, Swansea, Sunderland)
Arsenal- 4 pts from 3 games (City, Chelsea, West Ham)

Fair enough that United have gained 8 points on Arsenal but the Gunners have had a much harder run and still have a game in hand. They haven't gained any ground on City though, who have also had a tougher run. Chelsea and Liverpool have also had a much tougher set of fixtures and Moyes' side might only have made up 3 points depending on today's result.

United's next 4 games are Spurs (H), Swansea (H), Chelsea (A), Cardiff (H).
Arsenal have Cardiff (H), Villa (A), Fulham (H), Southampton (A).

I think it will probably even itself out.

I'd take a draw tbh, chelsea havent impressed me and we probably need both teams to drop points as i think we'll be challenging with both for 4th spot.

Everton and Arsenal showing the difference between top 5 teams and those just below, both grinding out results with key players missing and playing nowhere near their best.

Under no illusions that saints had a few players out themselves like. But we did have the spine to our team missing.

Howard - Jagielka and Barry, which also meant a reshuffle with mccarthy in an uncomfortable position and then also both our wingers on the bench with our main backup still injured.

great win against a very good saints team.

Agree mate. Good side them. Been carving sides up too. We kept them to set-pieces and long shots. It was a right scrap though. Wouldn't be surprised to hear of a few injuries afterwards.

I don't even care about the Shiite anyway. Whether they win or lose, they have to fear " plucky little Everton".

Spending millions and millions every year and you are still fighting out with "plucky little Everton".

It's that simple.
