Fulham are proof that spending a metric ton of money doesn't always work. We did that under Koeman as well and most of it was on crap players.

Wait what?Walcott was just a sub at Arsenal and his career was on a downward spiral, Bernard did well in Russia but that's Russia. Gomes had been a good player then went into melt down so you could argue that they were risky buys/loan. You need more than 1 or 2 proven players you need 7 or 8 and they will carry the poorer players (Phil Neville at Man Utd for example). We still need plenty and with the prices of proven players it will be expensive but just small change for the top teams. Then we have to deal with those top teams taking a fancy to our better players. It is getting harder and harder to close the gap.
