Hazard Kante Azpilicueta are all world class, Sarri has for some reason played them all out of position though.

Shows the importance of belief in the coaching, system and a desire to succeed.

Financial reward is no reason to try for the modern footballer. They are set for life after their 1st contract at the top level.

You need a special kind of character to get in the psyche of the players and make them give their all.

The game has changed so much these days that the role of the head coach to motivate and find a winning formula is so crucial.

We keep employing the wrong ones sadly.

Chelsea could achieve much the same effect by dropping them when they don't perform, and putting some of the youth in there instead. Sadly RLC only came on when it was 5-0 and Hudson-Odoi wasn't even in the squad.

Don't tell that to the Silva fanboys:

IT IZ DA PLAYERS FAULT

To a certain extent the blame lies with all.

But a leader has to lead. Not everyone can be self motivated when others down tools.

It's very hard to keep a finely balanced team pulling in the same direction. Similar issues can happen in any workplace if cliques and fractured groups are allowed to manifest. I see no reason why the same occurance wouldn't occur in a sporting context.

Under Conté, Chelsea at least used to be hard to beat, Sarri with his mythical Sarri-ball has achieved something - he's made being hard to beat a thing of the past.

Even Bournemouth beat them 4-0 ffs

Chelsea sack title and champions league winning managers a season later, Conte won nothing last season (the FA cup doesn't count at Chelsea) and was finished straight away, they always seek change and keep winning trophies.

Sarri looks a million miles away from winning anything and has brought them some big defeats, Sarri ball looks chaotic and defence is forgotten.

He'll be lucky to last the week.

Used to have a couple of world class players.

They only have one now. Who doesn't really want to be there.

Kante player of the season not so long ago and a crucial weapon played in a totally foreign position of a forward attack minded midfielder so he can base his system on Jorginho.

Jorginho was rapidly found out by opposing sides and stopping him was enough to stop Sarri's system, there is no plan B.

He hasn't unlimited funds like City but was left a decent team by Conté. Chelsea were title winners not so long ago and won the cup last season. They were generally hard to beat with Kante in front and protecting a settled back four.

Sarri maybe a million miles away from winning anything and going backwards at a rate of knots, but he has achieved something...

He's made being hard to beat a thing of the past.

Fancy losing 4-0 to Bournemouth

He's not wanted by their fans and will be lucky to survive the week imo

Memories of Scolari and Villas-Boas flood back, Sarri's position is far from unique in Chelsea's history and Abramovic's patience didnt last a season with those two, and they were sacked with the club in a higher position than they are now on both those occasions.

What is interesting is Citeh appear to be getting into their full stride again at a key point in the season.

The RS do appear to have faltered in recent weeks.

And can the RS go two full seasons in the Prem without losing a game at home?
