Today's Football 2017-18 Season

Pen or not, anyone saying it's a red card clearly doesn't know the rules of football.

Double jeopardy has applied for almost 3 seasons now. If it's a pen it cannot be red unless there was clearly no attempt to play the ball.
You obviously haven't looked at the whole picture. The red card wasn't given for the foul leading to the penalty but for Buffon's over-theatrical reaction to it.

Consistency is what we want. If he does the same the next time something similar happens then fine. Chances are he won't though.
You're probably right, so what I said in a previous post takes on more importance. Referees when confronted by a crowd of players clamouring for him to change his decision (which he is never going to do, ever) should red card one of them. Eventually even the most brain dead of football managers are going to twig on that they should educate their equally brain dead players to calm down and accept the ref's decision however insane it is. Referees never change their decision (with the exception of with VAR assistance).

I don't know that feels a bit dirty that. It's probably the right call if you weigh it up but I don't know it all just feels a bit wrong and dodgy. As good as Madrid are they certainly rely on the dark arts to see them through some serious situations.

This is exactly why we need them to be still in the competition, they are the only side that will get a decision against the RS.

To be fair he probably weighed up the situation and thought it was more of a punishment to the team not to send Hart off.

Watching the extended highlights there on the Madrid-Juve game - I didn't think Madrid played badly to be honest. They were easily the better team on the night and were unfortunate to not score a few times before they did. Their make do and mend CB pairing basically undermined them and Mandzukic was able to take advantage of Ramos' suspension.

They will utterly ribbon Liverpool.

Bayern solid as a rock at the back will sort them out too.

98th minute penalty?
Just woken to the outcome and reading about the dubious nature.
It's only because of an English referee officiating I'm not immediately saying it was corrupt.
Naturally no English officials would stoop so low to influence the outcome.

Honestly even I feel bitter. Juventus played their heart out and did everything right... to go out with a penalty in the 96th minute is just about the most Real Madrid/Cristiano Ronaldo way to be taken out of the tournament.

Also found it hilarious that Juve applied offside traps on Real Madrid goal kicks a few times lol Tactically amazingly played out by Juve/Alegri.
