I think you can give a degree of leniency for such scenarios though, Champions League semi final, last minute of added time, not an absolute stone wall penalty and there must have been a level of doubt from Oliver even after he'd awarded it. He wasn't manhandled, it was just pure passion from a goalkeeper who just realised his Champions League career was about to be ended in hugely controversial circumstances. I'd have given him a yellow, and all the others who were around him too which ultimately would have led to a red card coming out which would have sent the same message that surrounding the referee like that will end up with somebody being sent off.

Have you seen Evander Holyfield at the 84 Olympics? No one has been robbed in sport quite as much as he was, and he handled it with great dignity as well. Buffon should have known better.

It was sloppy defending from Juve for that incident, the lad switched off and then was clumsy in trying to get back in to position. They only have themselves to blame, the ref got it spot on, nothing controversial about it.

There is no place for a 40-year old international footballer with 23 years of professional experience under his belt to yell to the ref, in any way. The laws of the game says it is a red, and I hope this is more consistently applied at every level of the game.

I would also say there should be a 3 match ban for Chiellini for his money gesture bringing the game into disrepute.

Hilarious in the sense you can’t be offside from a goal kick right?
Hilarious that they set up in such a way that straight after it was played out, Juventus used the offside trap to their advantage as soon as possible, thus making the ball remain in play for a total of 4 sec or so. FFS.

Also nicked a foul a few times straight from that somehow I believe.

You can't deny that it was well played by them though. Even the weird sub in the 15th minute seemed to work well.

I would suggest that Oliver delivered that message very clearly.

He was injured

Will be Roma Liverpool, Madrid Bayern.

Expecting Bayern to bore their way to the final, and Roma to look a shadow of the side that dominated Barca, thus ending up with a hammering from those lovable Reds.

Liverpool Bayern final, anything could happen, but obviously the stars will align to somehow gift Liverpool the win in hugely controversial circumstances.

If anything most English refs would have bottled that badly and given nothing, so credit to Oliver for actually making the tough and correct decision. I only wish the others would get the cards out that quickly when 6 or 7 players run right up to the referee to protest a call.

That was a 50/50 decision. Not sure how people are getting clearcut or stonewall. Also lets be honest that would never get called against Real.
