good money earners for league 1 side like

It's a bit rubbish but that is they way of modern football. There is so much money in the game now everyone is desperate for a slice. I bet there are more than a few tears in Accrington Stanley tonight, and it won't be because they are missing out on the 'romance' of a cup draw against Manchester United.

We're not going to win period. The game has all the signs of a Wenger big game away bottle job. It would be an incredible surprise to me if we win.

Well, that's pretty unequivocal lol. So, it's Liverpool's gashness vs Arsenals bottlingness.
Think I'll plump for a draw

I wouldn't bet at all haha I could be wrong but I do have a good track record lol I have correctly predicted every single big away Premier League bottle job last year and so far I have predicted correctly all big games we played, even ones at home. I said we would lose to United, even my mates were laughing, you could see in the arsenal forums people asking themselves how much we would put past a crap United defence, I was the only one that said we're not going to win, end of story. The last time we beat United Fabregas was still here, it ain't gonna happen and I was right. When we went to Anfield last year, again, Arsenal fans online and offline were mocking Liverpool, I said we would lose, we were 4-0 down within 20 minutes it was even worse than I predicted actually. I kind of know when a Wenger bottle job is coming up and it's going to happen on Sunday. We might not lose, but I just can't see a win.

mate, you want wenger out - this is the perfect game he'll actually win that will paper over all the cracks and convince the owners he's the right man because of a win at a "top" club - it's how football works.

when in reality, this is a team that have failed to beat villa, hull, sland amongst others on their own patch this season.

You could be right there. He is so so so lucky that we are also facing Monaco, it makes me sick to my stomach what I know will happen. We reach the quarter final in the CL by easily beating Monaco, get absolutely thrashed by a top team in the quarters by hey, it doesn't matter because Wenger reached the quarter finals! He's making progress! (As if no other manager on earth could beat a Monaco side that scored a total of 4 goals in the entire group stage campaign). That's what Wenger will say..he is a sick man who sees achievements where no achievements exist and the Wenger lapdogs will just lap it up. You can't even talk to them their blind allegiance to Wenger is unbelievable.

ha shared the same viewpoint of moyes season before last. obviously i wanted us to win every game - but i knew we'd never win any actual trophies with him here and it did seem the only way we could improve was if he got sacked due to poor results. who knows, maybe you'll get the winner of the porto match and possibly the semis beckon.

Realistically though, who do you think you could get in to replace him who could rebuild the team? The only name big enough to pacify your fans is Klopp and he is proving over in Germany that he cannot re-build a team.

That is so true, one of my mates said the same thing. It's basically our only route to the Semi lol If we get there I swear Wenger will get a 10 year contract extension....we're in a lose-lose lollollol

Klopp is the crowd favourite yeah and to be honest, we're not really worried about his struggles in Dortmund because he will be given a lot to spend here at Arsenal. He wouldn't have to worry about his best players going straight to Bayern every year, I think he could do a good job here.

But to be fair, I would say most Arsenal fans are willing to give a new up and coming manager a chance, remember, Guardiola was nowhere when he took over at Barca. There are a lot of managers I personally wouldn't mind seeing where they take Arsenal. I would take any of these:

Klopp (reputation speaks for itself)
Joachim Low (if he's available after the Euros, again reputation speaks for itself)
Laudrup (Won a trophy with Swansea playing intricate football, played for Barca so would have instant respect in the dressing room at Arsenal)
Dennis Bergkamp (An Arsenal legend, would get instant respect and knows one-touch football inside out both at Ajax and Arsenal)

I would add Frank de Boer from Ajax and Garry Monk from Swansea as well, they both teach a very nice free-flowing style of football. Frank de Boer would get instant respect...but a little worried if Garry Monk might not get respect and rather get the Moyes treatment but he's a good manager imo.

Some very good shouts on there (at least you didn't come out with Gaurdiola/Ancelotti like the shower across the park from us), though I do think Klopp would be a bigger risk than he seems as he inherited Dortmunds 'golden generation' and failed to rebuild it. In reality though, would Arsenal fans REALLY be happy if someone like Gary Monk was appointed (very good manager and I think the only real disciple of Martinez to have managed them since), or would it be a false show of support like Moyes got at united (I suspect the latter but have very few Arsenal fans as friends and most seem to just want a big name)?

I think it is a hugely important decision and cannot be rushed untill the right person becomes available (if that means keeping Wenger for another season until someone does become available then that shouldn't be crowed at, as once the managerial revolving door starts at Arsenal it will become very very easy for you to turn into Liverpool. I think a certain amount of realism as to the stature of Arsenal as a club is needed (probably the level above Us, RS, Spurs and a few levels down from Chelsea, City, United) in terms of Managers and players you can attract. Though you are clearly very level headed and realistic about it.

Equally, the people at the top of the club just might not want to make that decision.

You make a very good point. We do need to be slightly careful who we pick as our next manager because unlike Chelsea and City, we aren't saturated with world class players in every position. There is no risk at Chelsea and City in picking managers because their squad is at such a high level that the risk of finishing outside top 4 is nearly zero.

To minimize the risk of finishing outside the top 4, we need to basically continue spending on quality players. If we get rid of the dross, bring in Schneiderlin and Pogba to beef up the midfield for example and a WC centre back I don't think there would be a real risk of finishing outside the top 4 even if the next manager is bad. There comes a point where a team is strong enough to withstand even the worst managers and still remain competitive at a reasonably high level, that's level the Arsenal board said they want to reach.

Part of the reason why I desperately want Wenger to leave is I'm almost 100% sure the next manager will use the transfer funds to clear the crap players we have. Wenger is emotionally attached to really really crap players and this would be fixed straight away with a new manager.

Brendan Rodgers will be available too.
