Well you generally do Davek, They money teams are the ones that finish in the top 4 90% of the time, To suggest otherwise is stupid

It needs time though. Man City took a couple of seasons after spending massively to get a CL spot. And with other clubs outside the financial elite now getting more revenue from tv deals the competition has become tougher. There really is a massive scrap now for those final two CL places outside of City and Chelsea.

If United secure it this season I think that is ahead of schedule myself.

Money helps, but you need to build unity and cohesion. He inherited a dog of a defence and he'll have to add to Shaw and Rojo. If they get a CL place it'll be a feather in van Gaal's cap. It's very competitive and you cant just buy it.

Unfortunately you can. Any team that can splash out upwards of £30 - 50m on a striker/winger striker/goal scoring attacking mid is going to score more than they concede.
I would agree 100% that their defence is gash (& I am not entirely convinced by Shaw) but their goalie is now right up there with Neuer & Courtois in terms of shot stopping.

The only team I can see who have gone spend crazy without buying that goal getting ingredient is RS ... and that is SUCH a shame :)

You can, but you have to give it time to settle in. It really isn't the guaranteed next step that the moment you lay down £150M - £200M in one fell swoop you suddenly have the winning formula. Football is a team game and it works on more than buying in a clutch of individual talent. You have to get a corp spirit in place and a group of players who know each other's game back to front and inside out.

I'm not saying it takes much more than a season; I'm saying if van Gaal did secure top four he's done a very, very good job. I'll be surprised if they do it, tbh.

Wow, City is missing both their starting center halves and Nastasic still can't get a game. Is he being punished for refusing to move clubs? Something weird is going on with that, at this point I'm a bit relieved Everton didn't pay a small fortune for him in August.

Falcao
Rooney
Di Maria
Van Persie
Mata
De Gea
Blind

Fourth should be expected.

Yeah, because all you need to do is score goals and not defend.

Unbelievable.

Funny that you say that, it worked for Liverpool last season.

If you have four world class attacking players in your team plus a host of other experienced top level players you should be looking at the Champions League. Their defenders are not league one standard.

You don't know much about football Davek. We get it. You don't need to keep making it so obvious.
