No, but I think it is worth considering that in recent years Roberto Martinez, Alec McLeish and Harry Redknapp have also won it. It's no longer the case that an FA Cup win and managerial genius go hand-in-hand; it's possible to win it with good fortune.

When did Alex McLeish win it? Methinks he's thinking of the League Cup. Has he upgraded that defeat to a FA Cup Final loss to spare the blushes of losing a Milk Cup Final to Birmingham?

Sure, it's a trophy and it gave pleasure to lots of people, but that doesn't mean it's the kind of trophy a club of Arsenal's size should be particularly proud of. For the really big clubs only the CL will do, the league being second best and the domestic cups a long way below that. The FA Cup these days is for clubs with nothing more important to challenge for - the league or top four or the Europa or promotion or avoiding relegation. For Arsenal, a club that a few years ago made the CL final, a domestic trophy is like a booby prize and a sign of how far we have fallen. Can anyone now remember who won the French, German or Italian equivalent of the FA Cup last year, the year before, five years before that, that's assuming you even registered it at the time? But everyone knows who won the CL and the various leagues.

I love the FA cup and growing up it was genuinely special , the final in particular a real family day as much as anything because of the lack of televised football . The 1984 & 95 final for different reasons are two of the best days of my life , not footballing life but life generally .

All that said to much of the new generation of football fans especially those who follow 'elite' clubs it just doesn't have that attraction or specialness about it I'm afraid .

I don't think many do to be honest mate

If we won the league cup, I think 99% of the fans would be happy about it and treat it with the gravitas it deserved

Got a mate whose a City fan and he celebrated the League Cup win last season the same as he would City winning any other cup

Look how many of our supporters are into the Europa League this year, a cup suposedly not as important as other ones

Some Everton fans don't care about winning "lesser" trophies, and some Arsenal fans don't care about winning "lesser" trophies.

Everything you say about the Arsenal fans goes for Everton fans.

Big difference between not wanting to win a cup, and wanting the club to focus on other priorities. I would be overjoyed if we contrived to win the league cup, and was gutted when we fell at the semis vs Chelsea, but generally, our exit each season is greeting with a massive 'meh'.

How can anyone actually like Woolwich?

They started in East London (Dial Square) moved to South London (Woolwich), played there for 27 years & then moved (in extremely dodgy circumstances) to North London & then moved again breaking untold promises to the locals in the process.

What would you think if a 27 year old Manc moved to Merseyside & called himself a Liverpudlian?

They are the original MK Dons no matter what way they try & spin it.
