He's not offside and even if he technically is he's not interfering with the keepers attempt to save.

And he's not interfering with the CH because all he's interested in is stopping Haaland.

They stated Haaland was “preventing the keeper getting from getting across to make the save”, but when Semenyo shot, the keeper was literally jumping in the opposite direction, thinking it was going to his right.

I've no dog in this fight but that might just be the worst offside decision I've ever seen. How can the VAR operators deem it 'potentially offside' then send the on pitch referee to go and check their homework ? They're supposed to be helping him, not the other effing way round. Sack the lot of them....clueless.

Wirtz scored a goal that was about 50 yards offside and ref disallowed it but VAR intervened and said it was not offside so they made up a rule after the game to justify not disallowing the goal

I'm pretty sure I read that VAR isn't an issue anywhere in Europe except nitpicking England where pensioners murder neighbours for having a bush 2cm higher than they are comfortable with.

Why did the ref go to monitor. Stockley Park supposed to make the decision he's off cause they've got the technology. The naked eye couldn't tell. That's the first time I've seen an on field ref make that decision. Questions need to be asked.

What a joy to watch Big Match Revisited on the TV. No VAR. Refs had more air of authority about them too somehow.
