Italy's system that worked so well up to the Belgium game completely fell apart without Spinazzola as it relied on one fullback, him, playing as a winger while the other stayed back and formed a back three in possession. The can't replicate it because Emerson and Di Lorenzo aren't almost wingers and they keep trying anyway. It is a mess.

It has gotten to the point where winning the Euros as they did, rather fortunately in the end, has put them in danger of missing out on the next tournament. Just a wild turn of events.

At the same time they do still have enough talent to potentially win the tournament next summer with some tweaks should they make it.

They also have an issue with the speed of play for sure. The system sort of resembles Atalanta which means the ball has to switch sides rapidly and it doesn't always do so. I think they should think long and hard about how much Jorginho they really need but that's a different discussion. Ultimately having no threat in the wide areas from the fullbacks makes a system relying on that pretty toothless.

They also need a real striker. I think the answer might be Moise Kean and I'm pretty serious about that. He gives them more of an in behind threat than everyone else.

But they've used a photo of Chelseas Edouard Mendy

So not only have they done the classic " mix up two black people" they've also asociated the Innocent Edouard with Benjamins vile crimes

So to confuse to black men who have the same last name is disgraceful. It’s lazy casual racism and seems it’s okay just to plast a picture of any black man with the same name in an article about rape is either incompetent in the extreme or one of those ‘they all look the same’ type of behaviour which is racism.

Allegedly… City were aware of the allegations initially brought towards Mendy and still chose to play him.

They’ve acted disgracefully.
