There are some some absolute terribly unwatchable teams qualifying for this one who probably wont provide us with much entertainment next December.

Serbia, Switzerland etc yawn

In fact having watched a bit of Brazil and Argentina over the past year or so there's not much to get excited about there either.

Perhaps Englands best chance so far in 56 years

I think I saw some links with us and Bellotti recently

That was the first time I saw him play live. Could not be any less impressed. He is slow, his first touch is poor and he got bullied by Jonny Evans. We should not sign him.

Derby docked 9 points again

Wonder if we get G Nev and Carragher going on about how it's unfair to punish fans for the owners actions
I don't know much about how Derby got into this mess but it seems unbelievable that a club of that size can get into such a big mess. Whether it is bad luck, bad management or a combination of both or other factors I don't know but it is a warning to all I suppose

Isn’t it only 3 more qualify? Not sure how it works this time around.
Correct. Advancing requires winning a pair of two-legged ties. The only good news for Italy is that the bigger fish are seeded, with Wales probably the most dangerous first-round draw as things stand. Would not be at all surprised to see Wales-Scotland somehow pop out of the pots for the first round, though.

Mismanagement and Deceit.

The owner backed them, in an unsustainable manner, and subsequently, when he decided enough was enough, they ended up in a bad place.

I think the latest fine is for fudging their accounts, they tried to blag the GAAP, and then tried were underhanded, like buying the stadium for excessive money. They've had 3 points suspended for not meetining the profit/loss amount too, so they've basically just done everything they shouldn't have.

I do feel for the fans, but Sheffield Wednesday did the same, and they're not in League One too.

Reading are due to be docked 6 points too for fudging their GAAP, as they didn't meet the profit/loss over 3 years.

Italy are extremely toothless. Did they not realise they needed to score twice?

We should have won it on the break at the death as well
Italy's system that worked so well up to the Belgium game completely fell apart without Spinazzola as it relied on one fullback, him, playing as a winger while the other stayed back and formed a back three in possession. They can't replicate it because Emerson and Di Lorenzo aren't almost wingers and they keep trying anyway. It is a mess.

It has gotten to the point where winning the Euros as they did, rather fortunately in the end, has put them in danger of missing out on the next tournament. Just a wild turn of events.

At the same time they do still have enough talent to potentially win the tournament next summer with some tweaks should they make it.
