He's missed with Jesus who is ok but definitely not to the standard that team is capable of.

Thats true, though he does tend to let players like him who are obviously great in their position stay there (like he did with Kompany, or Puyol at Barcelona) - its when they leave that he tries to replace them with midfielders.

Pep has lost interest. He’s on some massive ego trip where he’s too cool to play his best team and win games, he seems to revel in losing and then getting snarky with the media.
