There's also a lot of racism in the world. I'd say that's more sad but people would rather be comfortable with a peaceful world that largely ignores it than a more just world that confronts hard problems.

Problem is when you have a society that trigger happily accuses people of serious things only leads to resentment which then leads to conflict/division not peace.

I would never accuse someone of being a murderer or a rapist etc without serious evidence so I dont know why so many are comfortable of accusing someone as being something as serious as racist when mud sticks and someone can be the victim of serious harrassment (look at Pickford thanks to the media witch hunt over VVD injury).

For me all it does is dilutes the seriousness of the thing but social media is turning us to fascism - its why I laugh at Americans so keen to keep their guns to fight fascism/authoritarianism when its literally already here only difference is its the people doing the hunting not Government employed gestapo in suits.

Can only speak for the US but as serious as we claim being labeled a racist is it very rarely manifests as being actually problematic for people. And outside of the public eye it is largely acceptable to say blatantly discriminatory things.

(I explain that if arrested by the police, you can self identify.)
The police use the ic codes.these are blurted out over the radio all day every day.

IC1 - white, “Northern European”

IC2 - Hispanic - “Southern European”

IC3 - Black, Afro-Carribean

IC4 - Asian - as in Indian, Pakistani, Bangladesh etc.

IC5 - Oriental (Japanese, Malaysian, Chinese etc.)

IC6 - Arabic (Middle eastern appearance)

IC9 - Unknown (transparent maybe?)
