It is a simple descriptor. Claiming this as racism makes a mockery of the term. Its like being offended for being called 'the tall guy,' 'the short woman,' 'the ginger bloke,' etc.

You're right mate the world has a hundreds of years long history of systemic discrimination against tall people.

This is the same week we've had fans boo a explicitly anti-racist gesture at a football ground and we've got a handful of people continuing the tradition of giving the benefit of the doubt to anyone but black people.

Again, I never said I think it’s racist but in a world where we had to change the name of black boards in school it is probably now racist.

I thought they replaced blackboards with whiteboards because coloured marker pens show up better on whiteboards. I'm willing to be educated on this but it seems to make more sense than racial sensitivity .

"We" can't because its invariably a racist term; black isn't and IIRC has never been. Noone would be offended if he has used "black" as a descriptive term there to say who he's sent off. If he's said something else (and we don't know what has been said) then obviously thats different.
