To the europa league haters...

Don't see this treatmente easy route some make it out to be tbh.

Some very tough sides better than us and better than the likes of Wolfsburg to beat
How have we prioritised the europa? we've played strong sides but we havent rested players on the weekend for it.
Haha we've had no one to rest, everyones having there turn on the treatment table.
Europa should have been used to give players like Atsu a full 90 mins & introduce a couple of youngsters.

First season for a while where we have the additional pressure of the EL. Clubs like Spurs are perennial EL competitors, and have a squad to match. If we get 3+ years of continual EL/CL football, the squad will be bolstered accordingly.

This was never going to be a good season in that respect, but the football being played on the pitch is the much bigger concern.

Thought last night showed the effects of the injury crisis, not just he missing players but so many players returning and still not up to speed and some trying to regain form after missing a large part of the season so far. Credit to spurs and hull, in the last 2 games they set out to do to us what David Moyes made a career out of at everton fc.

Time to play the kids / fringe players in the Prem and keep the bigger names rested for the EL. Ok, not really but I would hate to see our progress in the EL hampered next February because we are in 9th and want to finish 7th.

The press dictate a lot in this country and you only have to see the miniscule coverage they give the Europa league.last week despite an excellent performance by us to win away to one of the best sides in the German league this season, one national newspaper gave us a quarter of a page match report whilst the redshites problems of last week got a double page spread the in same morning paper.

Can only assume the ones who slag it off are the ones who haven't been to places like Wolfsburg and seen how good a European away game is.

Not having a go at them as some people have other commitments and money restrictions stopping them going. Some just can't be arsed, and love to moan and claim their a big fan.

Either way, I reckon that's mostly the reason.

The real Europa League begins in Feb. We have 5 teams to beat (over 9 games) to win the thing. With a bit of luck we might only have to play 2 good sides. It's doable but we need to peak at the right times.

5 teams and 9 games but I agree with the point.
