Putin put the kibosh on the real WC entertainment by getting the word out that the Rusky hoolies were to be on their best behaviour. Seeing the faux English hardmen getting raced was my "cans" moment, alas not to be.

I`m hoping that the sight of drunken, fat Stone Island clad ,Tommy Robinson wannabees, urinating on Soviet War memorials, will be enough for Putin to unleash his hoolies. It would be a glorious sight for all the World to behold.

I like this England team and what Southgate is trying to do with it. He's no yes man at least which is what I feared when he was appointed and he's clearly got the players getting on, no drama, getting the press on side. I'd happily take the Quarters, that'd be progress considering the last few showings. Would love to beat Belgium as well and put a pin in their golden generation hype

Only thing I see with this England team and manager is, it's the first team since the much overhyped overrated golden generation....there's no fitting in the players the media demand, because Kane aside, England have no superstars anymore (the price you eventually pay for having the richest league)...

Southgate is working with what he has within his own limited abilities as a coach, dont think he's trying anything revolutionary.....

Don't fancy your chances against any team of quality...

This is probably the most invested I've been in an England team at a World Cup since 2006, the 'golden generation' has finally been eradicated and replaced by younger, hungrier players (think Cahill is the oldest member of the squad). Taking every game as it comes but I'd like us to at least match that tournament by making the quarters with view to challenging for that new Nations League competition starting in September and pushing on for Euro 2020

As someone who has lived away from Liverpool for most of my 53 years, that is utter tripe. Most football fans dont like LFC, but aside from lazy regional steryotype comments, (vault a EFC v Norwich match thread to see that everyone does it), Liverpool, the City, is far from despised with a passion.
