To All Scousers

I'm not a scouser, but am a Manc. From a family of Man U fans, I followed their footsteps until I was around 11 - then rebelled. I saw Everton play on the telly a few times and was drawn to them - the style of play, the sound of the crowd etc - nobody ever had a bad thing to say about the club.

Read a bit about the history, and fell in love with their culture, their undertstated consistent success at the highest level and that was that. All the Liverpool fans I knew as a kid were of a type - how shall I put it - that I didn't care for. They were the sort of kids, if you played footie with them, who never passed, were overly agressive and were always strikers. I figured they didn't really understand the game.

Around 4 years later, Everton went on that brilliant run in the mid 80s. Was always so glad I was a follower before that so I didn't look like a glory hunter like many of the red lot are.

Almost every Blue I know either has a season ticket or tries to go a few games a season, and seems thats way for most Blues on here, that I read....

My question is, why do we not smash 40k every single home game of every season, if the above was true !?!?!

The RS were in the second division, I was a glory hunter.........oh and all my family were blues going back to the beginning of the club.....

Because we only have 26.223 members of which 50% are @chicoazul multi's and 35% are other members multi's. Would be a bit expensive for chico to buy season tickets for all his multi's I reckon.

pretty much what happened with me. none of my family care at all about soccer/football so sort of found it on my own

We did have record season ticket sales this year like.

Probably a case of the most enthusiastic blues being more likely to know a disproportionate number of STHs, and obviously a bunch of these families and social circles overlap.

Both sides of my family are blue, grew up on County Road, went to Alsop School - Goodison has just been a fixture of my life. Some of my BEST memories are watching Everton with my Grandad who has now passed away. Got one Cousin who is a red out of the whole family (and its massive), down to his Dad who married in, so fair enough.

Dad bought me the kits growing up, just never occurred to me to be a Kopite, even though they were winning everything while we were battling relegation. I now live on the West Coast in USA and have to get up dead early to watch the games, still dance around like a kid when we score/win though, will never change. Got a 2 year old daughter (American) and she will also have no choice, already gets decked out in Everton gear :) Can't wait to take her to my favourite place on Earth for her first game though!
