Tin Rattling....

Why don't you make this a sticky until you've hit the $150 mark? It's fair enough that people chuck a few quid your way to help with costs. I just think leaving it as the "tin rattling" thread will mean most people don't even click on it. Just a suggestion. (y)

Without putting a dampener an things......the same "donations" were made on Bluekipper and it proved to be the killing of the forum.I think it would be better if you were to itemise exactly what it is the money is to be used for. That way is covers yourself and the forum. You might also find that there's someone out there who can do whatever you need for cheaper???Just a suggestion !!!

They're only looking $150, mate. It's not fair that other people have to pay for our pleasure. And there is no big pressure. I don't think the forum will wither away because of that.

It wont. Luckily I am on good terms with a lad who owns a hosting business so only pay around 200 a year to keep the site online and then the odd bill like renewing the domain.

Any donations will always be purely to add paid extensions to the site. In this case,vbseo.com, which will undoubtedly attract more Evertonian opinions :)

Now...the more interesting question...what happens to the money when it goes over the amount the site needs :dodgy::P

ps: How much is a good donation? because atm i have £8 on my card...ill have about £50 next week though hopfully :)

It goes towards a pub crawl for the forum staff!:P

I dont expect the amount to go over, i'll be putting money towards it to just to make it up.

If it did go over, it would go towards an inbuilt forum prediction league. Its fantastic. Hoping to buy that myself for next season though.

Fair play to you for all the personal money (and time) you put into it, Danny. I think often people simply don't realise that there are costs associated with this type of thing. (y)
