2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

Thought his first touch was really poor today. But he made some decent tackles and got around.

I also noticed that he took on the role of a DM. And whenever JOB or Myko went forward, or got pulled out of position, he dropped into their space to cover them.

Really don't think he can play in a midfield 2, needs to be in a 3 man midfield.

Definitely needs to be in a 3 rather than 2 vs 3 and the same could be said for Garner.

Our midfield outnumbered due to Moyes using McNeil. Then Beto on when we needed numbers in midfield.

Think this is it.

Im still making my mind up on him.

I figure he can recover the ball reasonably well but in a 2 man, hes exposed.

I think he has a touch of Ramsdale about him with concentration too. He seems to routinely switch off.

Looked tired.

Tarkowski yelled at him for the 1st goal.

2 vs 3 in the middle where even Garner looked poor.

He needs to be allowed to roam and go after players as a destroyer / tackle machine. Then his lack of concentration and positional sense wont hurt us.

Is that a players problem or a management problem?
Being poor on the ball is the players problem and he needs to improve (like Gana did over time, he’s not incredible but he’s much tidier than he was)

Playing someone bad on the ball in a two with McNeil ahead centrally in a game we needed to dominate possession in was on the manager when he had Armstrong on the bench who made it look so easy in his short cameo

Yes, the McNeil mobility issue shone yesterday. That role has to be all action, legs and physicality. That decision played straight into brentfords hands and is a mistake that cannot be repeated.

Absolutely spot on RP.

The way we play a 10 is as a presser not a flair player like say Zola.

McNeil is neither although he has the ability to spot a pass occasionally.

It's why Moyes likes KDH in that role
