2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

mightve been better if he’d had any minutes since gana got back in the side,, players need rhythm

his best spell came around christmas when he was playing every game
He’s had plenty of minutes to be fair, I don’t think that’s it at all. He just seems like a very hit and miss type, his performance levels vary wildly, way more than they should do at this level and at his age. He’s got a lot going for him but he just seems to struggle to put it all together.

I fear that hes taking too long to blossom. If he could just lash a shot in the net or even play some final key passes we could be looking at him nailing down that position.

With 2 games left this season its hard to see him starting there next season. I do like him but something is missing. I even dont mind him losing the ball now and then because you feel he is someone who can do something to hurt defences.

Is it realistic to expect that he will just put it all together one day and forever be the finished article or is what he is now the best of him that we will get. I still feel like his best perfomance in an Everton shirt came at home to Bournemouth when Dyche was manager. His performance excited me that day.

Insane. £12m gets you an unproven 18 year old left back. This guy could easily start for us next year and has had numerous performances where he has been among our best players. He has a high ceiling.
Think you need better with the ball, personally.

Like him, he seems a decent lad, he does some things really well, just can’t see him being integral if we are serious about moving up the table - hope I’m wrong.

It is 100% possible for players to improve even in their mid 20s. He has the raw materials and has shown he can play to a very high level. He’s put in very good performances against some very good teams. Sometimes it’s just a question of confidence and the final bits being polished by coaching.

He’s better on the ball than Gana who made it all the way to PSG. He’s can receive it under pressure and he is a very powerful runner. Just look how much Garner has improved in the last 12 months. I’m more impressed with Tim now than I was with Garner 12 months ago.

He's certainly no worse than Gueye at his age. It's a crying shame that Gueye was gifted a starting place all season on reput alone.

Time to not take up that extra year option on Gueye and say farewell in two game's time.

Seeing as we'll once again be playing likely the fewest overall games from all Premier League teams next season (assuming Moyes forfeits the cups again), we've no need for him any more while we have Tim.

Sign a more composed midfielder this summer for the long time and give Tim more opportunities next season.

We could spend a lot of money on players with much less potential. Hard to assess midfielders when you have two snails playing behind you.
Id be happy with that but feel is similar to rohl with both of them having questions on them if ahould be in the team. With gana getting older we pretty much have garner and kdh in midifled as in the first 11. Also with alcaraz armstrong ect have alot of midfielders that would question if should be in the first 11 just need another quality cm imo to go straight into the starting lineup

I've said before he'd be decent for a middle to upper Championship team
He will bully Championship teams and be a top performer, likewise those in the Europa Conference leagues (which we sadly won't be in). Physically seems to be a monster.
Maybe he improves, but his technique and composure are nonexistent 70% of the time - loses the ball, misplaced passes, the shots we won't talk about, etc. Players get slaughtered on here by the same people that ignore him losing the ball under next to no pressure in dangerous positions, or his mistakes leading to goals, really weird to see.

The Gueye comparison falls a bit flat for right now, but that can change in the future too - Gueye is great at reading the game and is decent at passing (though not anything special and bizarrely we use him to build attacks often for some reason), his main strength was exactly that, not just raw physicality. At Villa and early for us he was very good at getting the ball, keeping it and recycling possession, very similar player to McCarthy before he turned to dust.

Not a problem by any stretch and a fantastic asset to have in your squad for sure though. Attitude and physicality are what's needed in games sometimes and he has that.
