2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

I think Ghana is the pressing issue. We need players who are willing to take a risk in midfield and we haven’t got that. Rohl and Tim can both carry the ball and Rohl looks a decent passer. Ghana wins the ball but gives it back and always plays the wrong pass when he is pressing up the pitch.
Ghana started off the season well (sort of accept a couple of possession losses) and form has sort of mirrored team trajectory.
This is when Moyes should be bringing on Rohl and Tim, at least 30min, Rohl could easily start 2nd half.

Didn't set the world on fire at the start of the season, but his last few appearances off the bench he's fitted in well.
He's got the legs, the physique and a good tackle on him.
( God, it sounds like i'm creating his Tinder account )

It could be worth giving him another shot in the middle tho, he adds something different.

I think he's the most technically gifted of Rohl, Garner and Gana too. He can receive the ball in tight situations, beat players with ball manipulation and drive forward.

I like Tim, I think he’s a useful player. It seems like him being out the team, other than the odd sub appearance, has made him turn into prime Zidane 🤣
Who is really putting him in a higher bracket than what we have seen.

We know he can do his defensive duties, he is comfortable driving forward, he just seems like it's the final part in his decision making that has looked questionable in the past.

What drive have we got in the centre at the minute ?

And please dont say Rohl as nobody has even seen 90mins of his game yet.
We all want him to be that player, but if anybody has been massively built up its him.

I think he should start, given the recent performances. As I said in my post, I think he’s a useful player.

I’m just not expecting him being in the starting XI to make us remarkably better.

I’d say pretty much the exact opposite to be honest. His biggest issue by far has been his defensive contribution. He sort of notionally works hard and puts tackles in but he has a tendency to switch off and his positional discipline and stamina have both been questionable. He's looked at his best in open games where he’s been able to be all action (even more so when as a sub and he doesn’t tire) and the defensive discipline isn’t needed as much.

Like the thought of him being adapted into a ball playing cb, could see that working well longer term.

He could do a job in our midfield currently though, we should be rotating the legs, and he will be needed during afcon.

Solid and helped create a goal in the box again, seems to have a knack for that. Nice to see a Fulham player bouncing off him as he dribbled past.

Got dispossessed after being caught in two minds, but that'll come with experience.
