People are lazy and might miss this awesome picture.

I love that the same people who love to post the stats that show how terrible Howard was last season get all up in arms about how useless stats are when they show he's actually been decent this season. "Just use your eyes!"

Stats are useless, but the stats and my eyes tell me hes utterly terrible.

Boss when the stats and my eyes match up though.

We have conceded 29 goals, that's more than any team bar the bottom 3 and Swansea and Norwich.
So then Howard might a better keeper than the bottom three, Swansea, and Norwich? It's also the same number that Chelsea have conceded, with the majority of those coming with Begovic in goal. Would you admit that Howard might be playing better than Begovic?
We have scored 36 goals, that's more than Man Utd, Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal, and every other team above us bar Leicester and Man City. So actually yes, the reason we're 11th and not 5th knocking on the door of the top 4, is because we concede so many goals. A contributing factor is the fact that our goalkeeper hasn't saved a shot on target in the last 3 home games
That, like so many other "facts" posted in this thread, is a flat out lie. He's saved six shots on target in the last three home games.

Look, I'm not trying to convince you that he's the second coming of Southall, or even that he's good enough to be playing for a team at our level. Hell, I've even given up on saying he's better than Robles. All I'm trying to get across is that he's not "abysmal" or even incompetent. He's a slightly below average keeper relative to one of the best leagues in the world.

A pea roller of a shot straight down his grid doesn't constitute a save. The 'stats' might count it, but I don't. Tim Howard is abysmal, worse than average, only you and Douglas seem to think different on here

That's right. You keep your statistical comfort blanket there that keeps telling you super Timothy USA Everton hero is still a good keeper, and leave us observant fans over here to acknowledge that he's a depressing waste of space

Is he worse than average, or abysmal? I agree with worse than average (relative to the Premier League), but if you think he's abysmal, you're using that word in a way that doesn't make any sense to me.

So you absolutely refuse to admit that there are goalkeepers in the Premier League worse than Howard, then? Guzan? Ruddy? Boruc?

whens your ban up doug?

We've been to Specsavers have you?
If you pledge to never ever post a statistic in here again, I will too. The problem is, people keep posting statistics that are either drastically out of date or just flat out wrong, and then get really upset when the correct and relevant ones are posted to counter them.
