Tim Howard

I think it is obvious that Tim Howard is very near the end of his Everton career. I think it is certain that he won't be with us next season as I don't believe he would be happy to sit on the bench at his age.

He is an Everton player, in the first team, and the manager would be very stupid to publicly criticise any member of his staff, never mind a player who plays in a crucial position.
Even if Robles now takes over the jersey, then we need Howard as cover over the next few months.

When we sign a keeper I want one that has the potential to turn into something great..like so many of the signings of RM.
some of the names being mentioned are not really an improvement but somebody different.
I want improvement and the best are rarely available in January.
If Robles can cement a place ie is he good enough with game time then we need a up and coming younger keeper imo - if robles is poor after a run in the team then we need to spend big on a decent Keeper money we can probably ill afford!!

Joel is better at absolutely everything than Howard, every single aspect of goalkeeping. If you can't see that then I feel sorry for you

And the scary thing is that Joel isn't even "all that" either. He's merely a competent keeper, yet he's miles ahead of Howard these days

It just highlights how complacent and downright up his own arse Howard has become

Do you even read the very well reasoned and logical posts that us "buffoons" post? Do you disagree with any of the posts regarding how poor Tim Howard is and how it is a travesty that the manager continues to pick him ahead of a keeper who's proven he's better? Because I'd like to hear your views if you do
Clearly a post by someone not even arsed enough to read the thread here.

jesus.

Spot on. There seems to be a will to stick a plaster on the goalkeeping problem by buying someone who's not that much better than Howard, with a "Anyone different has got to be better" attitude, which might help a bit in the short term, but just kicks the problem down the road a bit.

We need a long term solution here. If someone fitting that criteria becomes available in January then that's great, but it's not very likely to happen.
