Tim Howard

Most goalies actually are ok and don't make that many mistakes. I've never rated Howard. Occassionally has a blinder but makes too many basic errors in terms of handling, positioning and footwork and his distribution and lack of movement off his line put us on the back foot. Still blame him for that lampard goal in the cup final.
If they don't make that many mistakes, why do they allow so many goals? It doesn't seem like they have their defenders to blame any more than Howard does, since most goalkeepers see far fewer shots that need saving. Do our matches just have an unusually low number of goal of the year candidates in them?

Its because Howard is now a very poor keeper who is so arrogant!
This echo poll has you out of step with many other blue fans not just on this thread -

It's not funny but you have to laugh at how bad he is. I laugh but deep down my blood is boiling over the fact we have someone this terrible in goal as our number one.

I've been laughing at him for ages. If we had a competent keeper who could do the absolute basics, I reckon we'd have about 6 more points than we currently do this season

In years to come we'll look back and be like HAHAHAHAHA remember when we had that star jumping nonce Tim Howard in goal?
To be fair he's not always been this poor, however the last three out of four have been pretty ridiculous where he's constantly declining.

I don't know much about the reported Steve Mandanda from Marseilles, but I can confidently say I like him more than Howard already.

Why are trying to analyse Ho

Not all goals are goalkeeper error. I don't know why you are trying to use statistics to prove that Howard is ok rather than what you see on a saturday.

Shot on goal statistics can be massively misleading as they don't account for distance, power or accuracy of the shot. The only way to properly judge a keeper is by how many above average saves he makes compared to how many goals he costs. Howard is massively in the negative.

He is awful, and as a defender you like to have confidence that the man behind you can be called on if needed and also bark out orders to his defenders, Tim Howard does neither.

But in order for that to be true, we would have to be giving up an unusually high number of shots on target that are weak and go right at him. That isn't the case in my observation, and I can't think of any earthly reason it would be the case. Don't you think it's more likely that a lot of Everton supporters have an axe to grind with Howard after his admittedly terrible performances last season, and so are only seeing the negatives now?

Again, I doubt anyone here has been able to watch every Premier League match played by every club, so the only way to actually compare Howard to the rest of the keepers in the league is by looking at the overall numbers and trying to find the pattern in them. There isn't any way to twist those numbers to make Howard anything worse than an average keeper overall this season. If anyone on this forum has actually been able to watch all 170 Premier League matches that have been played this season (or even a majority of them) and could say that Howard is truly that bad relative to all of the other keepers, then I will shut up about it. Until then, stop telling me to judge him based purely on what you see, because you haven't seen everyone else.

Lol what did you hear him say?

I have no narrative, was just watching the last 30 minutes of a game that I had very little interest in, So pray tell me what you heard him saying then,,,,
When they were showing the replay of toures goal he said Toure didn't even have to put that much "effort" into the shot which by his tone I took as one of those "he makes it look easy" type comments
