Tim Howard

To be fair to Howard, it's never easy to escape the barrage of shots he had to face playing under fraud tactics. It's no brainer that the more shots he face, the higher the chance of a mistake or a goal.

He was well protected today from 10 players in front of him and it made a difference.
To be fair, we cant blame how bad old star jumps was on Martinez aswell, give him a break hes been hammered enough and doesnt deserve this aswel. Barbarric.

He was the fall guy during some pretty crap showings by the blues. Great servant and will be missed :( sad times but such is transition!

Met Tim after the game with my lad in the car park. Seemed generally moved.

There will ever only be one big nev, and while we all still remember the big man as the greatest for those of us that watched him & whilst we're alive, we must also remember the great and the good that have followed him, but will actually never be as good.
Tim Howard is one if those. A very able a deserved Everton goalkeeper for 10 years is Tim, but not as good as Nev.
We were very spoiled to have a player who was recognised as the best in his position at a great moment in our history (omg I sound like Martinez). However for 10 years service, and to be as consistent and good as he has been, I am happy and proud to have Tim Howard represent my football club in big Nevs shadow for all that time.
I'm also glad that it come to a natural & dignified end.

Just as I watched NY red bulls results when Cahill left - I will do so again for Colorado Rapids.
He will spread the Everton word as much as he can on the other side of the pond while he is not playing and what will be a long media career for him in the growing American soccer market.

Someine once said - Once Everton has touched you, nothing is the same. Tim gets this.

Goodbye Tim - please come and visit.

Nice post mate, is he coming to visit you when he's next in the area ?

"This is a place I love, it is hard to leave. I grew up here, my best friends are here, there have been so many highs. I was fighting back the tears at the end. This will always be my home. I love this football club."

Says it all for me. A player shouldn't get slagged for being past their best or not being the best available - only when they're not trying or simply don't care. Not a charge that could ever be leveled against Tim Howard. His biggest crime in an Everton shirt was daring to turn round and arguing with those who doubted him.
