Tim Howard

Good to see so many people rewriting history so elegantly.
Or is it a goldfish mentality that judges everything on what they've just seen rather than looking at Tim Howard's total time with us. Comments such as "bang average" and "mediocre" are not worthy of appearing on such a prestigious forum as this.

He was bang average though. If you think different then that really is a horrific vision of where some Everton fans place us currently.

Didn't win it though did he.

Hes been crap for years, even when Moyes was here he was dodgy!
Thats all good and fine, everyone has their own opinion. Our national team is serious struggling under Klinsmann because of his ineptitude at playing guys out of position. The man marking the scorer is an attacking MF playing as a holding back. Even so the ball was headed off the defenders back and in. These Central American teams are no joke to play against. Look at Costa Rica's run in Brazil.

Headed to Columbus in a few hours with my mates (all Arsenal fans the lot of them, but I digress)- should be a great scene there. Hopefully JK gets it right today but not optimistic. Even with guys all over the pitch out of position we should still get a result, but i'd like to see no starjumps in goal, Cameron at CB and Yedlin at RB as a nice start to getting the tactics right. I don't care where we put Bradley if this happens. And please no Mix with any defensive responsibility.

An example of what?

You can obviously think what you like and i won't change it. And wouldn't want to.

But for me you seem to be an example of the acceptance of mediocrity that a lot of blues have. And see mediocrity as good. Or in some cases great.

For me Tim Howard has been value for money. He was what we needed at the time, fit well into a team that needed a new keeper and with the likes of Joseph Yobo. But that was a long time ago. It didn't take me long to realise we'd never win a thing with him in nets (although obviously not all his fault of course).

Almost all of his time in the UK he was short of being a top keeper, United spotted this early on and acted accordingly. He did have periods where he was excellent for us but I feel he should have been moved on about 2012 before he started to have a negative impact on the teams results regularly. The deterioration in his form recently has been massive to the point he looks like an absolute clown, it's been like waiting for someone with a terminal illness to die and it's now a bit of a relief that it's over. Shame he let the fans down with his silly comments when his pride was damaged.

As someone else has written, Howard did not pick himself.

I was sure that RM was at the Palace home game last season but despite a performance of
utter incomptence RM continued to pick him for another 18 months. Howard is the one biggest
cause of why EFC underperformed last saeson and this season.

Amen to that. I liked the banner flown over the field. JK throws his players/team under the bus like on that goal posted here. He said he told the team to put someone on the post. Guzan doesn't instill confidence either.
