Tim Howard

Leave it out and don't laugh at the old man. He's leaving and probably will never play for us again but it is quite some time he's out of the squad and the results are as [Poor language removed] as they were before

I think it's sad when a player has played so long and, generally, so well for us, that they end up leaving and most fans are glad to see them go. I don't necessarily blame the fans for this as we all want the best & success, but as a player, surely you know when the game has passed you by...

Leave on your own terms, at the top of your game, with your head held high. I think that's the message that some players should heed.

I've never been a fan of his tbh.
Had some great games for us, and had a few runs of very good form, but he's never been good enough in my eyes. Thanks Tim and all that....
Spot on mate, he is a bang average goalkeeper who has only declined.

Goalkeepers often can make the difference between winning and not winning things so our next keepers has to be a top goalie.

I think Howard is poorly treated on here probably one of our most average goalies we ever had but he didn't pick himself.

Good to see so many people rewriting history so elegantly.
Or is it a goldfish mentality that judges everything on what they've just seen rather than looking at Tim Howard's total time with us. Comments such as "bang average" and "mediocre" are not worthy of appearing on such a prestigious forum as this.

Have watched him from his initial loan period right through. I'd rate him, across the period, as above average but not someone I'd write home about. However, I wouldn't label others as aquatic imbeciles if they happen to disagree with me.

I wasn't suggesting that goldfish are imbeciles, or indeed that fans who don't rate Tim Howard are either aquatic or imbeciles. Just that these much-maligned fish and some posters on here share short memories.
Apologies to those posters, and to goldfish, for any offence caused.
