the second goal was a worldie. He is being used as a scapegoat.
Not really mate, we're saying he couldn't do much for the first two goals, but could probably actually move his arse off his line for the 3rd and 4th. How is that scapegoating, considering everyone's also criticising Martinez and basically everyone from our defence?

His job is to make saves. He made 0 again. I expect the odd great save.
which one was his fault? Also, Butland - goals conceded 3, shots saved, 0...

He's an absolute embarassment. Like seriously clapping the gladyws street sarcastically. He must think he's boss. I expect SOME saves. He offers absolute ZERO. He should never be lobbed from there. I don't care how good the strike is. His positioning is atrocious.

Thing is.. He's more suited to a percentage football style of team. 2 big grocks heading everything away. Compact back four. No space in our own half for counter attacks. He can just stay on his line and make saves.

For this Martinez style... He's hopeless. Doesn't have the skills. Robles in.

how on earth can you be acting like he's the main factor in our defeat today

the 3rd is closest to being his fault and even that's a stretch. our pathetic defending let stoke put in a fantastic cross, and predictably fell straight to a stoke player after howard did well to get something on it as it skidded right in front of the goal

we need to improve on him no doubt but he doesn't have the culpability for todays loss in the slightest.

Could and should have stopped their second goal, IMO.

He stood rooted to the spot in no man's land when he had time to retreat to his line and make a simple catch.

The ball seemed to be in the air and heading over the bar fir a very long time......Tim should have or roared himself for the worst case scenario instead of what appeared to be assuming it was going over.
