Secretary of defence

3 year contract extension

Awful start to the season

Book comes out and slanders Friedel

Continues to play very poorly

Robles keeps clean sheets and is dropped

Says he doesnt care about criticism

Very poor end to the season

Poor start to this season bar Spurs

News about his gf having an abortion

Becomes targetted by other teams

(Some nonsense interviews about tattoos being thrown in now and again and how he wants to play for us till hes 40)

I actually dont like him as either a person (never met him just read and seen interviews) and hate him as a keeper.

One thing no one has mentioned, isnt he embarrassed by his performances at all? If i was him id be ashamed and ask to leave on a free transfer....however from an interview in Jan he said he didnt care about criticism....

He will play against Sunderland ,
Never been my favorite player so don't want to go on about him yet again, its been the same for at least 3 seasons getting worse with everyone that passes,( anybody good at vaulting look it up there will be threads like this going back before then)
The Guardian had stats out last year showing him as one of the prems worsts for saves completed and shots stopped ,think he was right at the bottom of one of them and the other one had keepers that had been out injured below him, could have saved them the money and just looked on here to find that out
But he still keeps his place ,and that dosnt say much for how much bobby thinks of Robles,it will cost him his job if he isn't careful ,
Howard might be a big character around the club , but he is well passed his sell date.
Cant even get angry about him anymore , its sad really ,if he was a race horse they would put him out to pasture.

A goalkeeper is meant to take the pressure of his defence, Howard piles more on. Its clear for all to see, our defenders are so deep because they know how awful this gobshite of a player is.

Our back four could put in world class performances, but whilst this fraud is still behind them we'll still concede.

Since that world cup and the obama phone call hes had his head so far up his own ass, horrible arrogance to him, thats why people are so rightly vicious about him now

He's complete gash now. Even a partially sighted Kopite could see that he's been on the wane for at least 18 months.

He's costing us points, and is therefore now a liability. He needs to be dropped for the equally hapless Robles, and we need to bring a keeper in this January.

Tim Howard has been a good servant to Everton football club and has been a good keeper for us but not a great keeper.I do get the impression that the man has a petulant ego as well.I get the impression that Tim Howard think's he is bigger than this football club. It's pathetic really this fella over the past year is making Paul Gerrard look like Neville Southall.I'd would happily persuade Nigel Martyn to come out of retirement or at least give Joel Robles a chance.

Stopped finding it strange we haven't replaced Howard for a couple of seasons now and just see it as something we start each game having to deal with.
Not his fault. Has a player ever demanded to be dropped?
What's intriguing me now is how much his refusal to deal with crosses is despite efforts in training or whether we just don't see setpieces as something we need to go through in training.
One plus I would have thought from his lack of command in the area would be that defenders take on more responsibility but we are seriously inefficient from setpieces at both ends of the pitch.
So is our emphasis on ball retention actually at the expense of defending and attacking from situations that provide a massive percentage of goals?
Can't believe Howard is actually being encouraged to stay on his line for crosses but very good chance it's not even brought up.

Don't mate, it's painful every time seeing a clip of Nev or Martyn. I keep thinking 'that's in', then they just casually catch it. Then you remember what a tragic level Howard is at. Honestly forgotten what having a good keeper is like. 04/05 season is the perfect example of what can happen when you have a class keeper. Losses into draws, draws into wins, lots of clean sheets always giving you an opportunity. Momentum builds and confidence as well. Howard just sets is back every game. Most important position in the team.

aye...i remember that run of 1-0's we had....Martyn was a huge reason for that.

Fully agree the keep is the most important position. Southall being there alongside our most successful period in history wasn't a coincidence.

Like with Phil Neville all those years, in Tim Howard we've settled for second-best for far too long. NSNO or bust, let's go wild in the Janaury window!
