Tim Howard

Howard was just being himself today, first make some great saves that most keepers probably wouldn't, then gift the opposition an easy goal.

And he's gonna do it again this season. And not once or twice too.

I feel he needs to be replaced.

He's been decent over the past few years but his form over the past 12 months has been quite bad.
He needs to be replaced, but not by Joel. It's really too bad that goalkeeper isn't one of the positions that Martinez was going after this window. I think he really does think Joel is the keeper of the future, which seems suicidal to me.

Haven't changed my views from last season, still want shot of him.

Today summed him up perfectly. Makes some good saves but still makes a blunder out of what turnt out to be the game's crucial moment. He's not consistent enough and thinks he's untouchable. Sod him off.

Yeah, awful cheating on the goal. I thought he was good otherwise which was a shame.

Howard had a good game, give it up lads.
He did Doug , but the vital first near post mistake let us down, I thought his positioning was spot on till that moment , but overall City were just to good for us, their keeper made a mistake from a corner unpunished -
We have just seen the standard we have to attain, and we where a country mile from it, the only player I was very disappointed with today was MaCarthy who seems immune from being substituted!
Pleased for the younger players who came in today for us, but look at City's bench it's full of star players , and we think one playmaker is all we need - They looked like Champions elect today, as we tried our best, disjointed for TH , but if you leave. Gap like he did on your near post it's gift, and. Game changer, TH saved well today in the first half, his porsitoning looked far better then a relapse, that Jack Butland was linked to us an age ago when DM was interested in him? I regret we never signed him when he was cheap!

mate show me one save today that the vast majority of keepers wouldn't have made, i can show you one straight away that he let in that most would have stopped easily

I may have overstated my point about 'most keepers' if we're talking about today. But he was great up until their 1st you have to give him that, Tim Howard from the last season would've probably let in 4 or 5 today. Not defending him or saying that we don't need the replacement though.

he was ok till the first mate, didnt do anything less than id expect a keeper earning 40k+ a week to do though, needs replacing now

Well i agree that he needs to be replaced but it's very clear that that's not gonna happen (at least this summer) and Robles is not the answer so we can just try to be optimistic about him for now.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum indeed lol
