Confidence runs through everyone, doesn't matter who we gave in goal. We need a bit of luck, a couple of results and everyone will start playing better.

There is no confidence in front of our keeper at the moment and it's catching.

Surprise surprise, an american journo trying to deflect blame away from him. See he didint mention the ball drifting through his hands for dj Campbells goal, or the numerous near post shots that beat him

That's a bit unfair. Instead of taking the new information and adding it to that which we already know, you're striking down the entire analysis on the basis of the author's presumed nationality. Perhaps it's an inherently American habit of attempting to quantify just how good or just how poor an athlete's performance has been, but that doesn't change the accuracy of the presented statistics.

Neither Howard nor the defense as a whole have been good enough to push Everton forward, and now we can see the original crack in the dam.

He makes a few ok-ish points but it reeks of another Fanboy defence of him, doesnt mention the several shocking mistakes hes made

Tim Howrd isn't blameless , but a fool can see the real problems lie further out the field.
I think the real questions to be asked are :
How good is Barry without McCarthy ?
Are our centrebacks playing poorly or being exposed by weak centre midfield defensive work ?
Are our players out of form or trying to adapt to new formations which are simple not working at present ?

That's fair. I do agree he missed the mark, although it seemed to me he was just taking up the contrarian view as opposed to just exalting Howard. Premise: Tim Howard has been terrible. Author: Well, has he?

When he's fit, will he replace Robles in the side or is he finished at Everton now?

Would prefer it to be the latter but I think we'll likely keep him around. Even if we do sign a new goalie this window, Howard will likely be our cup/Europe goalie for a few more years yet I think. Would prefer if we just sent him back to the US to be honest.

There used to be a saying that doesn't get heard so often these days - a goalkeeper is only as good as his defence.

Now, while Tim is obviously lacking a bit lately, the defence must shoulder some, even if not 50%, of the fault.
