Yep, you're only as good as your last game.

The summer's activities count for nothing right now.

That previous form isn't helping right now though. A couple of bad games, then fair enough, but a poor half season requires prompt action, be that a spell on the sidelines, singing a different keeper entirely or simply extra work and training practice.

I think that at his age he could practise from now till Gabriel blows his bloody trumpet and it won't make too much difference.

He was never good enough for a supposedly top four challenging side.

First it was the World Cup heroics then the autobiography then the spat with the other Yank keeper then supporting Minolet then telling us that we would not be able to find another keeper as good as hI'm and now the ladies lunch. ..no [Poor language removed] wonder this cnut is so fcuking useless. ..no time to practice...

Which wouldn't make him a bad keeper seeing as he wasn't directly at fault for any of the goals...

It's not just about making mistakes that costs us goals
What about him making a couple of world class saves that help us get 3points

If Lukaku or who ever had scored any of those goals on Saturday would you have thought it was the Southampton keepers fault and we got lucky. Or would you have thought it was an expected outcome considering all 3 were scored from inside or around the 6 yard line and central to goal?

You've hit the nailed on the head
With all three around the 6yard line
This is one of his biggest faults doesn't command his box and is constantly rooted to his line

The 2goal once the Southampton player wins the header he should be off his line so by the time pelle controls the ball and turns Howard should be right at his feet
Instead of moving one yard and doing his favourite star jump
I don't think that has worked in 8yrs

Anyway I can't win with you
You will basically defend him not matter what
So good night

3 points, you need goals down the other end to do that, or to at least offer some kind of threat going forward and we didnt on Saturday.

He can make all the saves he likes but if no one in front of him is doing anything worthy of note he isnt costing us, the whole team is, including the manager. Ok he did at Spurs, and has let far to may goals in this season, but we could have Lev Yashin in goal right now and not be much further up the table.

There are problems in most positions, yes, but this is the Howard thread.

He's not saving many, and that's the problem. How is that not costing us?

but we could have Lev Yashin in goal right now and not be much further up the table.

Well that's just not true, is it?

Absolute bull [Poor language removed]
The biggest peice of rubbish I've read for many a long year
Are you for real
Look at de gea you telling me he's not one of the main reasons Utd are top 3
He's won countless MOM
And he's been their player of the months for October & November

Yes we need to score goals, but they scored with there 1st shot on goal and I'm pretty sure with there 2nd too
Think you need to stick to NFL
