I wouldnt be that bothered if we didnt get Howard! Hes ok and steady in most ganmes but prone to error and can look a bit panicky at times!

Its not spectacular saves that make a keepr (he is a good shot stopper)!
It iis also about (1) were they save the ball to i.e direction out of harms way!
(2) Coming and collecting crosses and decissivness (3) And above all else confidence in decison making!

I couldnt describe howard as being any better then ok on any of the above!

2.5 mill not worth any more!

Better keepers IMO:

Robert Green (West Ham Reserves).
David Marshell (Celtic/Norwitch on Loan).
Craig Gordon (Hearts).

No way, Green lets in to many goals, Hes over-rated.

The 2 scottish keepers wont make it prem standard either.

Sorry, but from a country where we produce top class goalkeepers year in and year out, this guy is going to be one of the best (with all due respect to Meola, Friedel, Keller, & Hahnemann).

I think only a daft idiot would say this guy wouldn't be sound for us. I'd challenge anyone to name a keeper we could get for roughly the same price who is of the same quality or better and an experienced international to boot.

Timmy will be the mainstay of the US National Team for years to come and hopefully for Everton as well.

I think the same as Welton, we won't get anyone better for the price than Tim, he is reliable and a great shot stopper, injury worries? none.

If we sign him, we don't even need to look at a keeper for YEARS.

I also noticed that he played for America the other day, so him playing for us has gotten him into the first XI (would that be fair to say?) (oh...question aimed at tx and tbm!)

Get him, sign him and forget about goalkeepers for 10 years.

He was already considered the heir apparent to Friedel & Keller (with due respect to Hahnemann) but playing week in and week out for Everton will certainly bolster his cause.

We've got a few good keepers in MLS too but right now, I'd have to say that Howard and Hahnemann would be first choice and backup.

We have to sign him, I'm so sure of it now.

watch him [Poor language removed] up today :p

have I jinxed us?! :(

Would be a good move if we can make it permanent otherwise we would have to search all over again for a goalie because Wright is no use.

still loving this news, superb.

btw.. As I haven't read it anywhere... what is the catch with this deal. how did it go through with it being outside of a window??
