Probably the biggest reason why I started supporting Everton and following football, 2-2 draw with spurs and he was just incredible. Shame that I never got to watch him play earlier. I do think that in his last couple of seasons he was too influential to drop, but wasn't versatile enough to accommodate more suitable players.

An absolute legend of Australian football - I never had much interest in the sport until the game in the 2006 World Cup against Japan when he scored 2 late (including our very first WC goal) to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Got me into the EPL and Everton was the logical choice. Came for the Cahill, stayed for the people's club. COYB.

Oh and his goal against Holland in the later World Cup...oh my Lord.

Living in Dublin, I mostly have to watch the game on a stream. I always rated Cahill but never quite understood why everyone loved him so much. After flying over to watch the derby I could see a lot of stuff the cameras don't pick up. He never stopped grafting and being a pain in the arse for whoever was marking him. I understood then. Great player.

Cracking player, always talked up the club when he could, technically better than many gave him credit for but his main asset was commitment to the cause which is a good starting point for me. And those Derby goals !!!!!! Thanks Tim. You were a bit of a narky get to the opposition but you were very much our narky get!!!!!
