Tim Cahill

Cahill is one awesome player no doubt, but is he the best that Australia has ever produced, it's a case for argument.

I generally have a dislike for many antipodean exports, i.e. Neighbors, Barry Humphries, Shane Warner,in fact I cannot stand those mentioned, but they did have some fine players going back far enough.

Viduka reminded me a bit of Tomas Brolin, started out as a lean attacking forward into a overweight Molby type, I know they both played for Leeds, and who can forget that Vidukas four goals against the red crap in 2000, Brilliant performance!

I remember years ago a player called Paul agostino or something, I think he made his name at Bristol City about 20 years ago, I know he was a big name australian player in the english league although back then there weren't many foreign imports about unlike today.

Stan Lazaridis, not a bad player, midfield I think it was.

Oh, Jason Kearton, FA cup winner. b)

I love Cahill as much as the next man but Kewell at his height for Leeds was one of the best wingers in the world. I'd take Kewell at the top of his game over Tim at the top of his.

Johnny Warren for me! (y) (Especially as I'm one of the few that was following the Soccer in 74!!!)

Always had a soft spot for Robbie Slater (got some cream to clear it up). Don't know why. Cannot back it up with figures either...

Kewell on his game is brilliant. A talent ruined by injury IMHO.

You could always count on Bosnich...(to get you a few grammes...) :o

Johnson was too far up himself. Mind you, he pioneered Aussies playing in EU & coming back for the Socceroos, especially for pressure games against the likes of Tonga! NOT!

Tim's the real deal though. Happy to keep him under the radar if it keeps him in the blue kit! (y)

Timmy is amazing
the number of games he's won for Australia is amazing
I'm just worried that when he's retired Australia might struggle

but for the time being :D

If I'm following what you're saying...err , yes but, it's a list of Australias best players and, as far as I recall, I don't think he was playing when Everton last played the Australian National side.

I'm happy to be corrected... (I was wrong once before...)b)

I went to the Edgbaston Ashes Test this year . I tapped this Aussie on the shoulder and asked whom was his favourite " soccer " player ???
He answered Timmy .
I then revealed the Everton flag draped around my shoulders , and we became fast friends .
Timmy is a LEG' . The proof will be when he's not here any more .
Oh , and Sydney is 10 , 593 miles away , apparently , so if you're looking for him to sign something , do it in the next 2-3 years .
( L.C.A.B. tip of the day . )
