Love the comments after that article. Fairly shallow representation on their fans!

hmmm, i get their frustrations though.
I recently unfollowed Timmy on Twitter. I still love him, only EFC player I've ever gotten on the back of a replica kit- but i find his social media persona kinda unbearable. I loved how you could see his passion and commitment on the field every time he was on it. But it got pretty annoying having him remind it to me in person every day online.

Was browsing through today's international fixtures and came across the Australia V Japan Scoreline (which ended 2-1 to Japan) and before even browsing through the goalscorers I knew who's name I was almost certain to see and when I did looked further. Surprise Surprise it was Tim Cahill who scored their only goal. He really is a goal machine for his country if he doesn't score, Australia don't.

This is funny because it's so true.

I forgot that we were playing and as soon as I learnt we lost 2-1 I just KNEW it was Tim who'd scored and it was a cracking header, full flight and hang time.... the Timmy we remember.

He really must be every kids idol over in Australia. Shame we never really took advantage of that market, ah well suppose thats for a different thread!

His star continues to grow even in this his "so called" twilight years. Yes the kids love him here. Everybody does and the media can't get enough of him.

That's 8 from 12 goals under this new coach. One of those 8 was of course that world cup screamer against the Dutch in the world cup!

Unfortunately we have no one else to rely on for goals and we'll struggle because of it.

8 in 12! Let me ask this did Australia score in those other 4 games ;)

Don't quote me but I think none lol

I have no idea how we're going to win the Asian cup which is still expected of us.

Japan was toying with us.

Japan are a good team in fairness, think England would struggle against them if caught on a off day. There a clever team with some very good individuals in Kagawa and Honda. Has Cahill hinted at when he will retire from international football?

He's a big cagey about that but I have a feeling this Asian cup must be his last tournament.

Will be sad but we need to start developing a team without having to rely on him and the quicker we do this the better.

Then again I might be wrong and he might come off the bench for the next world cup to be truly immortalised haha. wouldn't that be something!

Somebody has already mentioned Craig Johnson ... but was shot down as he hardly appeared for the Aussies. He DID however, invent a football boot. None of the others did that, so he has to have been Aussie's best.

Yes he was the Aussies best....football boot designer. He didn't play for Australia but England U21s.....he had the choice with Aussie parents though he was born in South Africa. Fair play to him packing the game in to look after his very sick sister, but he blew the millions Predator brought him and went bankrupt.
