Ticket poll for Brighton

On the ballot form it asked for first and second preference. Say, 100 people put North Lower first preference then South lower second preference and there were only 25 in North Lower and 25 in South Lower that would mean 50 not getting tickets. Even though, there could be 100s of tickets available in North Upper and South Upper for instance and more in other areas.

The balloting system is a farce, and was for the Southampton game, and it is made worse with preferences.

There was the checkbox asking you if you'd accept other places in the ground, which I said I would.

What it really needed was a "don't mind, just try and fit me anywhere" choice. I'd have put that as my primary selection.

Reading the information on these pages, would suggest that the system wasn't up to allocating tickets properly in the first palce, never mind looking for other places in the ground for those who couldn't get first and second preference.
