Maybe I'm the eternal optimist, but I agree with this. There is a VERY fine line between winning and losing at the top level. We are very close to be right near the top, but the table doesn't lie. We've haven't been good enough. But it's not by a lot. Look at yesterday. We got a point only on a fluke own goal. The rest of the game, there was absolutely no doubt who the better team was.

Call me crazy, but I still think we are going to go on a SERIOUS run and finish in the European places and maybe even make an FA cup run, depending on the draw we get when Timmy is in Asia. The league isn't that good this year. It's all still to play for lads.

Because we have lacked that cutting edge and a killer instinct. However, we know the players we have can play at a higher level (except Cahill who is having the best season of his career I think). Point being, we have room to improve but I think many of the teams above us are either as good as they're going to get or overachieving and destined to fall back in the pack.

Exactly this. What has me (and I assume everyone else - either consciously or subconsciously) frustrated is if we were playing to our potential like the 2nd half of last year, we'd be top of the fuk'n league right now. And that's no joke.
