Threat to Board members safety means they wont attend southampton game

It was a stupid statement for the club to put out. At a time when we need everyone pulling in the same direction they do this instead of just having a head ache or a cold and missing the match. DBB, Bill and Sharpy need kicking out of the club for this crack-handed statement.….embarrassing really…..

It is and was stupid, but the fan groups haven't helped themselves either. It was well known Moshiri wants out but that wouldn't happen until the stadium is built, by not waiting we drag our name through the mud which was one of the last tangible assets we had. There is always going to be one nutter and it only takes one with it all heightened.

It is all going to go to the dogs now. Sponsors are going to be thinking twice along with almost every part of the business suffering.

The very last quote from a 'clubs spokesman' really drills home the purpose of that statement.

They could have just not attended and left it.

Now, if they wanted to release a statement, they could have simply put. We're not attending due to safety concerns. Pretty grim, but nowhere near as bad as.

''never before has our entire Board of Directors been ordered not to attend a match on safety grounds. It is a profoundly sad day for Everton and Evertonians.”

Division and a stab at the fans to the national media, plain and simple. Disgrace.
Typical deflection tactics by the board not willing to accept their responsibilities.
