2025/26 Thierno Barry

He’s just looking too raw and can’t really see any standout attributes.

Too easy to play against for centrebacks. He’s not doing enough. I remember when DCL came through, he was raw, had a lot to learn but I could see he would be a nightmare to play against. He was quick strong, put himself about - just had to develop his finishing, could see there was something there.

As much as we’re willing him to do well, he’s not good enough. Nowhere near.

Moyes puts height and arial ability at the top of his attributes for a centre forward. He wants a big guy upfront which is why he ends up with donkey’s a lot of the time. He couldn’t pick a centre forward if his job depended on it.

Underwhelming once again with another big miss to boot. We're all cheering him on to deliver but I expect Moyes will be pushing for funds for a striker come January.

We don’t need anymore nice guys. We need killer instincts in front of goal. It’s crazy that DCL has twice the number of goals as our Beto/Barry experiment.
I also love all the "oh unlucky" shouts as our twinkletoed sunshine boys once again find ways to miss the actual target. There's nothing unlucky about it. It's called conviction - and without it everything is pointless foreplay.

Absolutely hate the term raw.

Sure, a player can be "raw" but effective, and you can see the potential.

Barry is a poor footballer, he will never be good.

I've seen enough, offers 0 threat and has little to no football intelligence.

My biggest issue with him is his positioning. He constantly takes himself out of scoring opportunities. He always runs behind the defender to the back, away from the ball. This puts a defender now between him and any potential goal, and means it has to get through EVERYBODY before he can get a tap in. It doesnt matter if the ball is close, and theres no one else, he just vacates the dangerous space and moves to make it easier for the defenders.

The missed cross was a perfect example of this. Hes right there, and instead of crashing near post, he goes all the way back round leaving only one option for the cross, and if anyone touches it(which happens every single time) it ends up as nothing. No matter his talent or ability level, his constantly being in poor positioning will mean he wont score very many.

seems like a nice guy and I want it to work out for him. But he’s not even close.

We’ve set the bar that low we’ve convinced ourselves he’s got good link up play. When in fact I don’t see him bringing anyone into play at all. Miles worse than DCL, someone should be sacked for this signing
I have said this all day long DCL was by far the best striker we had at Everton last season, he would be in double figures if he had stayed.

The clowns we have up top now are Maupay levels
