2025/26 Thierno Barry

I’ll give him the first 6 months of next season.

Don’t want to be in a position where we have to write of the guts of £30 mill on a signing like the Moshiri years.

Was dog dirt yesterday.

If Beto is going to be out for a while then he has these final 5 games to save his Everton career. In recent weeks Beto has overtaken him as a starter and I think we are all agreed that Beto needs to be upgraded too. I really wanted him to do well and think that there is a player in there (Barry), but I think it's clear that he's not someone that is going to do a good job from the bench or be able to improve doing that. He needs to start games and if he doesn't show he can cut doing that in this run in then he will need to be shifted in the summer, either on loan or sold.

I think yesterday turned me. It was more in hope that I wanted him to come good.

I thought I saw a guy who wanted to do well, who wanted to try for the team. When he was not scoring his body language was of somebody who was desperate. Sunday he was not only poor but there was zero effort in anything he did, that is not easily turned around. If you cannot give at least some effort in a game that you know the fans care immensely for, then there is very little hope.

Sell in the summer, keep Beto and go all out for a decent striker that at least shows that he wants to play for us.

I wouldn't give him another minute in the last 5 games.

Either Ndiaye as false 9 or Keane up front.

He's lucky he hasn't had a crack for his lack of effort.

He would've in every changing room I've been in.

This. I thought the booing was for him but heard the Liverpool sub. There is no way of knowing who the boos were for but if he thought it was him then can see why he was deflated.

He was still shocking but this seems to be a siuation that wont improve. Fans boo, his confidence drops and he cant be bothered, which in turn causes the fans to understandably get more frustrated and hence more groans and boos.

Either something needs to give or he needs to go.

He just shouldn't play for us again, it's that simple. Remove him from the situation. It's not like he offers us anything when he's on the pitch anyway.

Saw something in him earlier in the season. I think when he grows and matures he will forge a career somewhere, not in the PL but somewhere decent.

But he’s not cut out for Everton, and there has been too much bad blood for there to be a way forward now. Beto has streaked past him in the second half of the season down to little more than heart and effort. Unfortunately Barry does not possess the talent to make up for such a shortfall in those areas.

If we are to get rid of Barry, how much should we be willing to take for him? Personally I would be willing to accept upwards of £15m for him, even if that incurs a fairly substantial loss on the fee we paid for him. Another route we could take is to loan him out, try and find a suitor and recoup some of the fee we paid for him through loan fees before selling him permanently.

While getting him out the door asap is a priority, I don’t want him to turn into another one who runs down his contract through a succession of loans.

I would take anything, other than loaning him out, as you know he will more than likely come back. Just sell him full stop.

Same really. I think he’s been unlucky at times and a difficult position to play in as a youngster in the prem - he gives off a slight air of thinking he is better than Everton though, the whole debacle in the Arsenal away end, some of his instagram comments etc. I think he has a lot of positives to his general game but I see him being moved on sooner rather than later.

What did we actually pay for him?
