2025/26 Thierno Barry

I defended him earlier in the season - not many players/strikers come straight into PL and hit ground running.

But it was catastrophic business.

Brobbey, Tiago, Jesus all the same age and cost less than this cat.

You're talking £50m when you factor in salary costs over length of contract.

You'd like to think there'll be consequences. But they're all implicated - everyone signed off on this.

Sick of it. They booted Thelwell out when his recruitment record (Maupay aside) was actually very good.
funny you mention that slug maupay, because his attitude of "I'm better than this" is exactly what came across from barry yesterday. not the least bit bothered.

there was a striker in the PL, nicknamed 'the incredible sulk', properly moody narky get. Nicolas Anelka, fell out everywhere he went, but kept getting moves because he could do the business. barry doesn't even register as a pro up against saint nic.

in a word... Shambles!

If we are to get rid of Barry, how much should we be willing to take for him? Personally I would be willing to accept upwards of £15m for him, even if that incurs a fairly substantial loss on the fee we paid for him. Another route we could take is to loan him out, try and find a suitor and recoup some of the fee we paid for him through loan fees before selling him permanently.
sides will see the situation made at arsenal and then backed up by yesterdays no show and not even offer 15 pence. I wouldn't even have him washing dishes. before this all gets out of hand, George came on and was also very very bad yesterday. So the ire isn't solely for barry.

to much to young, made for life before 25. no wonder there is no desire.

Always thought it was a pivotal period after that Arsenal game, its been nearly 6 weeks.

Youd bust through brickwalls to make amends, but for me, his heads elsewhere, completely out of it yesterday.

Just isnt going to make it at Everton, but whos buying him? Hopefully he can vault me in a year, but I dont see a way back.

He encapsulates everything that is the modern footballer.
Young lad, rich beyond his wildest dreams as a kid. Not from round here, never supported us as a kid.

He/his agent get him another move and he can say he’s played in X leagues.

Grafters with skill are becoming a rarity in modern football. We’re producing generations of self-absorbed athletes who are satisfied with a goal even if their team lost 5-1

stubbs said the same on the radio. once the fans turn that's it.

Does it really matter, get rid.
I was asking as at 27m over a 4 year contract doesn't his book value decrease by 25% a year giving him a book value of £20.25m.
To sell at £15m would represent a loss of £5.25m which is the best we can hope for.
We can't keep both him and Beto as we need to bring another forward in so we need to move him on asap.

Id say hes poorly advised, definitely.

The faux pas with his mates at Arsenal says to me hes ignorant as hell or not getting educated. But for me, hes a young lad and he was getting pelters from off, could see it affected him (rightly or wrongly). Still got some boos yesterday, and all for an incident which could easily have been avoided.

Some players suit the club, others dont. He wont sadly. Just get him
Gone and accept the mistake.

Would've even put brought Braiden Graham up and lobbed him on for the last 10 before Id play Barry ever again.
It's certainly worrying when a club is in an absolutely desperate situation in a certain position, there is a youngster impressing in the u23s, yet the manager won't even give him a go in the senior squad. Very baffling behaviour from Moyes, and in keeping with his dislike for young talent.

Thinking about it, I blame the 'professional leadership team' who signed him more than Barry.

We've got a group of highly paid 'experts' who thought dropping £50m (inc contract) was a smart move and good investment.

Absolute morons.
Notice how Mr Kinnear has been silent since January? Usually you'd expect a summary of the transfer window and a reasoning given as to why the club failed to act despite being in a highly promising league position.

They are all a bunch of chancers in above their heads. They'll be fired one by one ultimately and we'll be starting again.
