Only Everton can play a striker against two of the top sides in the league. Offer zero service to the striker apart from lumping the ball up to him and then drop him because he didnt score against one of the worst teams in the league.

It was like when dyche would only play simms away to the top 4 sides and wonder why he looked poor.

Maybe so, but Dean Ashton is just a poor take. So mediocre, the idea that Moyes doesn't know a good striker because he signed Beattie over biscuit legs 20 years ago. Brilliant. Thanks its made my year.

Can we all just agree that we generally have crap strikers? Only good ones who played regularly, in the last forty years were Sharp, Lineker, Yakubu, Johnson (for a season), Lukaku.

With special mentions to the ‘flatter to deceive’ category which were Cottee (would score hatricks against lower league opposition in the league cup, but generally not many goals elsewhere), Saha (always injured), Ferguson (unplayable twice a year but generally injured or sent off and get legend status for some bizarre reason), and Jelavic (good goal scoring record for half a season)
