2017/18 Theo Walcott

I liked his ability to win free kicks like Pienaar and Arteta used to. It's such a brilliant ability to have, as it can often prevent the opposition from gaining possession when you are in a tricky spot, and then you have the beautiful bonus of getting a free kick in the attacking third of the pitch, leaving the opposition under the cosh and us with a potential goal scoring opportunity.

Its hard to judge when we are averaging 0.1 chances on goal per game but I think he brings a different level of ability, strong, quick and can read games better than Bolassie etc, If we can sort the attacking options out we will look great but it all stems from a terrible back 4 and terrible CDM

I've ridiculed Walcott amongst my English and arsenal supporting acquaintances on numerous occasions over the years.

He is an example of just how far pace can take you in the modern game. He is extremely limited technically and his final ball/footballing intelligence is utterly brutal. His pace is diminishing through age and past injuries.

Although I'm not surprised this mess we have in charge has signed yet another dud, I'm disappointed. I hope he proves me wrong. He won't though. Although on the bright side he is better than bolasie.

He was by far our best player last game, yeah the teams tripe but it was his first game for us. He's a proven finisher in the league and in Europe and 20mill is nothing in the game now. Struggling to understand how people are finding this a bad move for us tbh.
I understand now after having a conversation with my brother. It's because he is losing his pace on FIFA and has little resale value.

Because some folks in here will always diss whatever the club does ... they don’t deserve nice things

Could see him getting frustrated by those around him and the lack of movement it won't take him long to settle and be rubbish

Mostly because we splurged 20m on a position that was largely unnecessary when gaping holes such as LB and CM are required.

We could have Messi up front but with our CMs we're going to be cut through like butter and create zilch

OK so we shouldn't strengthen any areas of the team other than lb and cm? If he'd have gone somewhere else and had a decent second half of the season you lot would be berating the club for not bringing him in and settling for bolasie ET Al. Literally can't win sometimes. The windows not done yet either.
