Listened to a two-part podcast about this recently. Terrible tragedy but led to much needed standardization in communication
Been a couple of these recently. I was for some reason reading about napoleon i yesterday and was reading about the many battles culminating in Waterloo and then St Helena and some pretty ropey treatment and then burial and all that stuff. Anyway, there's a famous picture painted and it's turned up today in the mastermind thread about generals. Small world.

that is an issue for you.

Can’t believe we’re going to have to deal with another four years of this blinded, cult like trash posting.
FAA have been incompetent and there has been near-misses for years now, as @wm02 rightfully pointed out. It was only a matter of time until an actual accident was going to happen. That's a very fair assessment of the situation.

@Ruairi77 assessment is political hogwash based on an executive decision taken 6 days ago, and somehow decided to connect that to this tragedy. It's disingenuous.

but is it as delusional as dinner, dancing, and sweet tender love over a game of cards in the balearics or canaries or wherever it was with a Swedish supermodel hot off the press of her latest sports illustrated shoot.

Why weren't you warning all of us about this before then? Sounds like this one is on you

no it's not. He put a ban on FAA hiring. he asked most of their staff to resign, he fired the director and what do you know, ATC at Reagan was short staffed last night.
I'm not blaming the FAA but it's reasonable to question Trumps slash and burn approach to federal employees.
Either way, he's the commander and chief and it's a bit pathetic of him to blame everyone from Biden to women, to people of color to helicopter pilots.
The guys a coward, probably why he dodged the draft.

Trump only raised the DEI angle, as someone said it was a Blackhawk and he misunderstood.
