with respect, that still only makes it an opinion, not a fact

Judging any PM as best/worst is always going to be an opinion. But that said, economically, I reckon it would be quite simple to factually prove that the UK in the late 1970's was a bit crap.

Whether Thatcher solved that, and was the best/worst PM however, will forever be an opinion.

I think it is pretty accurate to state she is/was the most divisive mind.

Cameron will be viewed by history as a weak backed populist who didn’t need have the stones to challenge the march of the far right Eurosceptics within his own ranks and instead appeased them with a referendum he thought he couldn’t lose, that jeopardised the short and medium term economic future of the nation.

Thatcher was a dogma driven vindictive horror. She destroyed entire communities, ruined lives and created an under class through mass unemployment. We’re still living with the consequences of that woman’s ideology nearly 40 years later.

Whatever you think of Thatcher it is a historical fact that when she took over from Labour the country was in its worst mess since the war and she sorted it. Blair is worse than Thatcher by a factor of 10.

Wasting your words, the kids on here hate Thatcher because they mostly haven’t a clue or have read something. They wouldn’t know a good PM if they fell over one. They mostly believe that Jezza would save the country. It makes you weep really for the future of our country........

So who do you think is the best then.........this should be a laugh......

Did you live through it ?.....
I did.

My auld fella had to take old Norman’s bike after Dunlop’s closed. I grew up with the mass unemployment and the deprivation and hopelessness it brought with it. I had a taste of 13% interest rates and then years of neg eq after the latest cycle of boom and bust that her hapless sidekick Lawson inflicted on us. I saw the new culture of greed and self absorption she brought to the City and beyond. I also had a glimpse of the bare faced and shameless way that her cronies filled their well heeled boots with the underselling of the nations assets.

I raised a glass the day she turned her toes up.
